Now, actor Chitrangda Singh<\/a> has shared her perspective, calling the idea \u201cvery difficult\u201d to implement in a creative field like cinema.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s a creative field, you can\u2019t bind it to time\u2019<\/p>\n

Speaking to NDTV, Chitrangda, who is currently gearing up for her upcoming film Maatrubhumi alongside Salman Khan<\/a>, explained why fixed working hours are hard to enforce on film sets.\u201cBollywood mushkil hai, bahut mushkil hai, because again, like you said, it\u2019s a creative field. If the shot isn\u2019t ready, the light hasn\u2019t come, it\u2019s raining, something goes wrong on the set, some malfunction with the camera \u2014 anything can happen,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u2018There\u2019s also a business aspect\u2019<\/p>\n

She added that filmmaking isn\u2019t just creative \u2014 it\u2019s also driven by business realities.\u201cThere\u2019s also a business aspect to everything. So I feel as long as the producer is okay\u2026 Deepika is Deepika, she\u2019s a superstar, maybe she can say she\u2019ll work for eight hours \u2014 and why not?\u201d she noted. <\/p>\n

\u2018You can\u2019t put a hard stop\u2019<\/p>\n

Chitrangda emphasised that limiting shifts strictly to eight hours isn\u2019t always practical \u2014 for anyone.\u201cI\u2019m not just saying this for women. Even for a male actor, it\u2019s very difficult. You can\u2019t put a hard stop like that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u2018Technicians need regulation more\u2019<\/p>\n

Highlighting a crucial gap, she pointed out that crew members often bear the brunt of long working hours.\u201cIn fact, I feel the lightmen and other technicians need it more. They are the first ones to come on set and the last ones to leave.
