\n\tEXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>Laura Lekkos<\/a> has come aboard to adapt Rebecca Serle\u2019s\u00a0New York Times\u00a0bestseller Expiration Dates<\/a>, which is in development at Amazon MGM Studios with Emma Roberts<\/a> set to star. Deadline first told you about the project.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tThe novel follows a woman who receives paper slips from the universe with the date her relationship will expire. When a man comes along and defies the pattern, she begins to question her predetermined timeline.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tFeatherweight Pictures\u2019 Jessica Pugh and Chelsea Bradshaw are producing\u00a0Expiration Dates\u00a0alongside Belletrists\u2019 Roberts and Karah Preiss, and EPs Matt Matruski, David Stone, and Serle. <\/p>\n

\n\tLekkos previously wrote the romantic comedy\u00a0Relationship Goals\u00a0for Amazon MGM Studios, starring Kelly Rowland and Cliff \u201cMethod Man\u201d Smith, which was released February 4 on Prime Video. It was announced recently that she will adapt the bestselling romantic comedy novel\u00a0The Marriage Bargain\u00a0for 20th\u00a0Century Studios. Her\u00a0debut novel,\u00a0All the Little Ways,\u00a0was bought by Simon and Schuster\u2019s Gallery Books and will be released in June.\u00a0She also wrote the script for\u00a0Somewhere Only We Know, a feature adaptation of Maureen Goo\u2019s novel set up at Netflix, and has multiple other projects in development, including\u00a0Daring to Live\u00a0for Amazon MGM Studios, a true-story dramedy based on Sheri Hunter\u2019s memoir.\u00a0The scribe is repped by Gersh and Felker McGinnis & Ryan.<\/p>\n

\n\tSerle\u2019s novels have sold millions of copies sold in over 30\u00a0territories\u00a0around the world. Her New York Times bestseller One Italian Summer has sold over 1.5 copies worldwide and is in development at Paramount\u00a0with Temple Hill producing. Her novel In Five Years, which has sold more than 2.3 million copies worldwide in 32 languages, is in development at New Line with Working Title producing. Her latest release Once and Again is in early development at Apple. Serle\u2019s YA novel When You Were Mine was adapted into the feature film\u00a0Rosaline, which was produced by 21 Laps and premiered on Hulu in 2022.
