Well, now we all know who Taylor Swift voted for in the Best New Artist category last year at the Grammys. The biggest pop star of our time really, really likes Sombr. Swift raved about the young rocker in a New York Times interview<\/a> about being a songwriter. \u201cI\u2019m a massive Sombr fan, of his songwriting,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd his lyrics are so intensely confessional: \u2018I don\u2019t want another man\u2019s child to have the eyes of the girl I can\u2019t forget.\u2019 Are you kidding me?\u201d (She\u2019s quoting Sombr\u2019s 2025 track \u201cUndressed.\u201d)<\/p>\n Swift continued, claiming that Sombr\u2019s emotional vulnerability in his lyrics will ultimately be good for female songwriters, who are often accused of being overly confessional on their songs. \u201cHaving a male artist say stuff like that is really good for the cause of women to be able to say stuff,\u201d she said. \u201cIf there\u2019s any way we can make confessional songwriting a little bit more of something that isn\u2019t like people take it as you being messy. You have to be fair to everyone then.\u201d<\/p>\n This is not the first time Swift has talked about loving Sombr. She called him \u201camazing\u201d in an interview with Morning Mash Up<\/a> in 2025. She then gifted him a four-leaf clover necklace, which he wore to a December Billboard interview<\/a> while still refusing to tell the story of her gifting it. \u201cBut it was, like, the sweetest message and very, very selfless of her to give me this,\u201d he said. It makes sense.
