{"id":460382,"date":"2026-04-29T22:21:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T22:21:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/460382\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T22:21:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T22:21:12","slug":"musicians-hall-of-fame-inducts-12-new-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/460382\/","title":{"rendered":"Musicians Hall of Fame Inducts 12 New Members"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOn April 28, the Musicians Hall of Fame welcomed a dozen new members, as it inducted its ninth class during a ceremony held at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Belmont University.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tExplore\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-tagline  a-font-secondary-fancy-xxxs@desktop-xl a-font-secondary-fancy-s@desktop-xl-max lrv-u-text-transform-uppercase lrv-u-color-black u-padding-t-13 lrv-u-padding-b-2 lrv-u-margin-tb-00 lrv-u-text-align-center lrv-u-border-t-1 lrv-u-border-color-black lrv-u-width-100p\">See latest videos, charts and news<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDann Huff, Dolly Parton (recipient of the industry icon award), George Thorogood &amp; the Destroyers, John Boylan (recipient of the producer award), Keith Urban, Leland Sklar, Michael McDonald and the late Nicky Hopkins were all inducted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe evening launched with a private medallion ceremony, held in the Fisher Center\u2019s Brad Paisley Ballroom, where Linda Chambers, Musicians Hall of Fame &amp; Museum co-founder and CEO, presented Hall of Fame medallions and custom-made jackets to honorees, with help from guests and 2016 Musicians Hall of Fame inductees Ricky Skaggs and Don Felder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLater, actor\/musician Sam Palladio oversaw an all-star concert held to celebrate the honorees. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe Musicians Hall of Fame all-star band featured musicians Brent Rader, Mark Beckett, Paul Franklin, Mark Hill, Chris Leuzinger, John Jarvis, Michael Rojas, Sam Levine, Eric Darken, Alicia Enstrom, and Gordon Kennedy, as well as background vocalists Marcia Ware Wilder, Brent Rader and Tania Hancheroff. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDweezil Zappa presented George Thorogood &amp; The Destroyers (Thorogood, Jeff Simon, Bill Blough, Jim Suhler and Buddy Leach) with a Musicians Hall of Fame accolade, and joined the band for their first song, \u201cMove It On Over.\u201d The band followed with \u201cWho Do You Love\u201d and \u201cBad to the Bone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWith humility, we say thank you,\u201d Thorogood told the audience in accepting the induction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tProducer\/music executive Tony Brown honored bassist Sklar, known for his work with artists including James Taylor, Carole King and Lyle Lovett. Wendy Moten sang a powerful rendition of \u201cRunning on Empty\u201d and Garth Brooks performed a joyous version of \u201cHow Sweet It Is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cYou guys all light the paths that the rest of us try to follow,\u201d Brooks told the evening\u2019s honorees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBernie Leadon presented the accolade to John Boylan, known for his production work on Boston\u2019s self-titled debut, as well as multiple albums recorded by Linda Ronstadt (whom he has also managed), Charlie Daniels Band and many more. Johnson performed \u201cMore Than a Feeling,\u201d  and Trisha Yearwood performed the Ronstadt-recorded songs \u201cLove Has No Pride\u201d  as well as \u201cSilver Threads and Golden Needles,\u201d joined by Felder and Alicia Enstrom. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTo honor guitarist Dann Huff, known for his work as a producer and musician on scores of albums (including a 25-year relationship working with fellow inductee Urban), but also for his keen guitar skills on albums by everyone from Michael Jackson to Kenny Rogers and Taylor Swift \u2014\u00a0and even on the Celine Dion smash \u201cMy Heart Will Go On\u201d from the Titanic soundtrack. Along the way, Huff also performed as part of the Christian rock band Whitesnake.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWendy Moten performed \u201cMy Heart Will Go On,\u201d while Buck Johnson performed the Whitesnake classic \u201cHere I Go Again.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHuff told the audience, \u201cI\u2019m still trying to wrap my head around this. I know it\u2019s cliche to say this, but just to be inducted in the class with these people, it\u2019s astounding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tPeter Frampton honored the late pianist Nicky Hopkins, known for his work on albums by The Who, The Beatles, The Kinks and The Rolling Stones. Frampton called Hopkins \u201ca piano player\u2019s piano player,\u201d while Hopkins was honored by performances of \u201cSympathy for the Devil,\u201d \u201cRevolution\u201d and \u201cAngie.\u201d Vince Gill then sang a tender rendition of \u201cYou Are So Beautiful.\u201d Hopkins\u2019 wife Moira accepted the honor on his behalf.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSheryl Crow presented the honor to Parton, who shared her acceptance remarks via a pre-recorded video message. While Parton is known for writing and performing all-time country hits like \u201c9 to 5\u201d and \u201cJolene,\u201d she is also a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, banjo, piano, dulcimer and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI am very humbled to be inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame,\u201d Parton said. \u201cMy songwriting is more important to me than anything, but as much as I\u2019ve crafted lyrics in my mind, and then eventually started writing them down on paper, I realized early on that if I was going to write songs, I needed to be able to play instruments to bring them to life. I knew this would allow people to hear them in ways that I heard them playing in my head\u2026 I understood how important it was to speak to the instrumentation. I learned to communicate what I wanted to hear on records because I could play them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tGuitarist-vocalist-writer Steve Wariner then performed a medley of Parton hits including \u201cI Will Always Love You,\u201d \u201cJolene,\u201d \u201cCoat of Many Colors\u201d and \u201c9 to 5.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tGill and Skaggs presented the honor to Urban, who then took the stage to perform renditions of \u201cLong Hot Summer,\u201d \u201cWhen Summer Comes Around\u201d and \u201cWho Wouldn\u2019t Wanna Be Me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThis is a bit surreal honestly,\u201d Urban said in accepting his honor. To his fellow honorees, he said, \u201cIt\u2019s a huge honor to be with every one of you in this class, it\u2019s insane.\u201d He said of his fellow inductee Huff, \u201cI\u2019ve grown so much from Dann about just being a better musician. I think when we started working together, I was just all stubble and rough as hell and all disheveled, like, that\u2019s a vibe, let\u2019s move on, next song. And Dann, who was from the Mutt Lange world, was like\u2026 play that solo 464 frickin\u2019 times more. There was that learning curve.
