Coronation Street star Olivia Frances-Brown has warned that viewers will be “shocked” by upcoming scenes which could potentially see her character Jodie Ramsey killed off<\/p>\n

Wednesday’s episode will be told from Jodie’s point of view<\/p>\n

Coronation Street<\/a> star Olivia Frances-Brown has warned that viewers will be “shocked” by upcoming scenes. The actress, 27, has been playing Jodie Ramsey on the world’s longest-running TV soap since January and is part of the programme’s much-anticipated murder week.<\/p>\n

The programme has been through numerous radical format changes<\/a> in the last few years that have taken it away from the traditional linear exploration of everyday life on a Manchester backstreet, and Jodie, who arrived as the long-lost sister of Shona Platt (Julia Goulding<\/a>), is one of five potential victims of murder, whose fate was teased with a flashforward earlier this year.<\/p>\n

All at the heart of villainous storylines, viewers are yet to see whether Jodie, along with Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), or Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn)<\/a> will be killed off as part of an upcoming murder plot.<\/p>\n

Jodie turned up as the sister of Shona Platt, whom she had never mentioned before during her decade living on the street<\/p>\n

But instead of revealing to viewers exactly who the victim is all at once, they will be kept guessing over the course<\/a> of several episodes, all set at the same time but told from the point of view of each individual character. Wednesday night’s episode will see what Jodie was up to on that fateful night, and now, actress Jodie has given fans an idea of what they can expect.<\/p>\n

She said: “Prepare to be shocked, prepare to be surprised, big time.” On being one of the five at risk, Olivia said: “I would have been surprised if she wasn\u2019t one of the victims, the way she\u2019s been carrying on!<\/p>\n

“Trouble follows her around like a bad smell. She is always caught up in the chaos. Whatever\u2019s going on, if there is any chaos in the street, she\u2019ll probably be at the heart of it. It\u2019s the way that she is.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s who she is. It\u2019s the way she has learnt to deal with things. It\u2019s the way she goes through life.” Little is known about Jodie, whom Shona had never mentioned before, but viewers have seen her stealing various items from those in the Weatherfield community, and her initial arrival was shrouded in mystery as she was seen tied up in the back of a van in the soap’s crossover with Emmerdale<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Coronation Street<\/a> boss Kate Brooks said of the big week<\/a>: “It was a very complicated storylining process! I did lose a bit of sleep and my hair went a little bit greyer. Usually in a murder week you\u2019ve got one victim, then the suspects \u2013 we had five potential suspects had to make sure all the stories aligned, made sense and they were all getting to the right place and coming together.<\/p>\n

In the build-up it’s gearing up and the momentum is really strong, it could be any of them. Stars aligned to get to this juicy week. The flipside is going forward, there\u2019s so many consequences for each individual character.<\/p>\n

Then we\u2019ve also got the who did it, that big story as well going forward as well as unpacking what’s going on with all those other characters. Very complex, but satisfying and enjoyable as well.”<\/p>\n
