A central installation is a 90-meter-long wall mural which reads in bold text: &#8216;LOOK FOR THE MOMENT WHEN PRIDE BECOMES CONTEMPT.&#8217; [John Kouskoutis]<\/p>\n<p>The first solo exhibition in Greece by American conceptual artist Barbara Kruger opened Tuesday at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), bringing her signature text-based visual style to one of the country\u2019s major cultural venues.<\/p>\n<p>Titled \u201cUntitled (Pride and Contempt),\u201d the exhibition features 13 newly created site-specific works that examine contemporary culture through the fusion of visual imagery and written language. In a notable first for the artist, the textual interventions are presented in the Greek language, translating her sharp social commentary for the local public landscape.<\/p>\n<p>A central installation is a 90-meter-long wall mural on the National Library of Greece, which reads in bold text: \u201cLOOK FOR THE MOMENT WHEN PRIDE BECOMES CONTEMPT.\u201d Additional works are installed across the SNFCC Esplanade, where large-scale vertical metal structures display Kruger\u2019s characteristic textual interventions among the trees, integrating language into the public environment.<\/p>\n<p>Kruger, now 81, is known internationally for her \u201cagitprop\u201d approach, combining provocative slogans with found black-and-white photographs to critique consumerism, gender roles, and systems of power.
