The U.S. Consumer and Product Safety Commission has issued a recall of FitRx SmartBell Quick-Select 5-52.5lbs Adjustable Dumbbells<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
The recall was issued after 115 reports of weight plates dislodging during use causing six people to be injured<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
The dumbbells were sold at Walmart nationwide from January 2024 through November 2024 for about $100<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

The U.S. Consumer and Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced<\/a> on Thursday, April 23 that it has recalled the FitRx SmartBell Quick-Select 5-52.5lbs Adjustable Dumbbells, explaining the exercise equipment may pose \u201cserious injury\u201d due to being an \u201cimpact hazard.\u201d<\/p>\n The dumbbells are adjustable from 5 to 52.5 lbs. and can be adjusted in 2.5 or 5-lb. increments by turning the handle to the desired weight, while the dumbbell is nested in the storage tray, per the CPSC. However, sometimes an issue arises after a person picks up the weights.<\/p>\n The CPSC said that it initiated the recall after receiving 115 reports of weight plates dislodging during use. At least six people reported injuries including \u201cbroken toes, bruises, contusions and lacerations\u201d as a result.<\/p>\n A photo of the dumbbells sold at Walmart The recall includes 50,000 units of the dumbbells, which were sold in black with red accents and include handles, weight plates and a molded plastic storage tray.<\/p>\n The recalled units have the serial numbers KK23288361 through KK23388361 and KK207608361 through KK21347836 only, per the CPSC.<\/p>\n The products were imported by Tzumi Electronics Inc. of New York and sold in Walmart stores nationwide from January 2024 through November 2024 for about $100.<\/p>\n The CPSC said that anyone who purchased the item should \u201cimmediately stop using the adjustable dumbbell\u201d and contact Tzumi Electronics Inc. \u201cfor a free replacement of the dumbbell and tray.\u201d<\/p>\n Customers should also write the word \u201crecalled\u201d across the dumbbell tray using permanent spray paint or marker. On the same day, the CPSC also announced a recall of nearly 5,000 youth all-terrain vehicles<\/a> (ATVs) after a 6-year-old was killed in a crash involving one.<\/p>\n That recall involved the Rex110 and Sierra110 Youth All-Terrain Vehicles and was made because the CPSC said that the made-for-children products failed to adhere to mandatory safety standards, including the \u201cmaximum speed limitations\u201d for four-wheelers intended for children ages 6 and older.<\/p>\n The CPSC said that any consumer who purchased a Rex110 or Sierra110 Youth ATV should stop using them immediately and contact the distributing company for a full refund.<\/p>\n![\"A](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/da111ea1c003f22f736afdedb14f5608.jpeg\"\/)
