\"Aamir In a recent conversation with Kapil Sharma<\/a>, Aamir Khan<\/a> opened up about his son Junaid Khan<\/a>\u2019s career choices and the values that define his family. The actor made it clear that he has consciously stayed away from influencing his son\u2019s professional path.\u201cAs a father, he didn\u2019t let me do anything for him. He doesn\u2019t even like it if I interfere in his career,\u201d Aamir said, adding that Junaid trained in theatre abroad and returned to India to audition independently\u2014without revealing his identity. \u201cNeither did I tell anyone he is my son, nor did he. He built his career on his own.\u201dAamir also acknowledged the inherent pressure Junaid faces because of his lineage. \u201cBecause you are my son, it will be especially difficult for you. Everyone will compare you directly to me, so getting a fair chance won\u2019t be easy,\u201d he shared, recalling a conversation with him.<\/p>\n

Reena\u2019s upbringing and a father\u2019s pride<\/p>\n

Speaking about his children, Aamir credited his ex-wife Reena Dutta for their upbringing. \u201cI feel very proud as a father\u2014and the credit goes to Reena\u2019s upbringing. Of course, I have contributed too\u2014but both our children are very sensitive and kind-hearted. They value others and think about people. These are wonderful qualities.\u201dHe went on to recount an incident during the COVID-19 pandemic that left a deep impression on him. \u201cWhen Reena\u2019s parents got COVID and were alone, before we could even decide what to do, Junaid had already reached there. He stayed with them for two weeks, cooked for them, washed their clothes and took care of them\u2014without anyone asking him to.\u201dFor Aamir, this reflected his son\u2019s character. \u201cHe has a lot of love in him and a strong character. Seeing that makes me very proud.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aamir also spoke about Junaid\u2019s grounded lifestyle, revealing that the young actor often chooses public transport over comfort.\u201cI\u2019ve told him many times\u2014buy a car. But he says, \u2018When I need it, I\u2019ll take it. First let me work, let me become something.\u2019\u201dReferring to viral videos of Junaid travelling in autos, Aamir added, \u201cHe\u2019s that kind of person. He doesn\u2019t feel the need for these things right now.\u201d <\/p>\n

Lessons from family and finding balance<\/p>\n

Reflecting on his own journey, Aamir admitted that his intense focus on work once came at the cost of family time. \u201cDuring COVID, I realised I am very close to my family emotionally, but I didn\u2019t give them enough time. I felt very guilty about that.\u201dHe even considered quitting films altogether. \u201cI had decided to stop acting, producing\u2014everything\u2014and spend my life with my family.\u201dHowever, it was his children who brought him back to balance. \u201cJunaid and Ira told me\u2014\u2018How long will you do this?
