Foo Fighters<\/a> have dropped a zombie apocalypse-themed video for \u2018Spit Shine\u2019, which was written and directed by Dave Grohl<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The visuals for the single \u2013 taken from their new album \u2018Your Favorite Toy\u2019 \u2013 find the band playing a show in front of a Lemmy mural which is overrun by a zombie horde. The zombies launch a gory attack on the civilians and by its conclusion, the Foos are splattered in blood as they play.<\/p>\n

Grohl\u2019s daughter Harper was also involved with the casting of the video, which she also stars in.<\/p>\n

\u2018Spit Shine\u2019 follows the band\u2019s previously released singles \u2018 \u2018Asking For A Friend\u2019<\/a>, \u2018Of All People\u2019<\/a>, as well as the record\u2019s\u00a0title track,<\/a> \u2018Of All People\u2019 and \u2018Caught In The Echo\u2019.<\/p>\n

The band dropped by Saturday Night Live UK <\/a>last weekend to perform the songs \u2018Caught in the Echo\u2018 and \u2018Child Actor\u2019 live for the first time.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

They also appeared in a sketch earlier in the show where host Nicola Coughlan is shown around the backstage area by Jimmy Fallon and encounters the band.<\/p>\n

\u201cJimmy. Jimmy. It\u2019s Dave Grohl,\u201d Coughlan says, prompting Fallon to suggest she ask him to be best friends. \u201cBecause we\u2019re live,\u201d he says, \u201che has to say yes.\u201d Sure enough, Grohl was up for it, and was soon sharing five fives and heart-hands.<\/p>\n

The band were in London to celebrate the album launch this week, and\u00a0fans who attended the listening party were treated to a surprise appearance from Grohl and Pat Smear<\/a>, who walked into the event while one fan was performing a karaoke version of their 1997 track \u2018Monkey Wrench\u2019.<\/p>\n

NME\u00a0gave the record 3 and half stars\u00a0in a review which read<\/a>: \u201cVocally, Grohl has rediscovered his roar, but lyricism has never been his strongest suit, and much of it here is throwaway; those looking for signs of where his head is at after his\u00a0infidelity scandal<\/a>\u00a0two years ago will be largely disappointed.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut a fascinating exception is \u2018Child Actor\u2019, on which Grohl \u2013 who\u2019s come to relish the spotlight after 30 years as the Foos\u2019 frontman \u2013 unflinchingly examines his need for validation; it is the sound of somebody who has knocked themselves off their own perch searching for answers in the mirror.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Your Favorite Toy\u2019 is a few more tracks of that depth away from being the most vital Foo Fighters record since 1997\u2019s \u2018The Colour and the Shape\u2019. For now, at least, they have remembered that no-frills punk, played fast and loud, suits them much better than middle-of-the-road dad-rock.\u201d<\/p>\n

Foo Fighters will be heading out on a European stadium tour that is set to include two nights at Liverpool\u2019s Anfield Stadium<\/a> at the end of June. They will also be playing a range of major European shows this summer<\/a>,\u00a0as well as\u00a0a North American stadium tour for the summer<\/a>, and they have also just announced\u00a0an Australian and New Zealand tour for late 2026 and early 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In other news, Grohl recently\u00a0recalled the time he accidentally insulted\u00a0<\/a>David Bowie<\/a>, saying that he \u201cbackpedalled so fast\u201d, and has\u00a0revealed the boozy secret to keeping his vocal cords in a healthy condition<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0he has made a rare political statement about the \u201cdeeply divided\u201d America<\/a>, saying: \u201cThere needs to be change.\u201d<\/p>\n
