A 45-year-old man has been charged following a UK Counter Terrorism Policing investigation into an attack during \u200cwhich two men \u2060were stabbed in Golders Green in London on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Essa Suleiman has been charged with two counts of attempted murder \u200cand one count of possession \u2060of a \u200cbladed article in a public place in \u2060relation \u200cto the attack, Metropolitan Police said.<\/p>\n
He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today.<\/p>\n
Mr Suleiman, of Camberwell, south London, was also charged with attempted murder in relation to a separate incident on the same date in Great Dover Street, Southwark, police said.<\/p>\n
Commander Helen Flanagan, head of Counter Terrorism Policing London, said: “Our thoughts remain with the victims involved and specialist officers continue to provide them with support as their recovery continues.<\/p>\n
“We are determined to get justice for the victims and now that a person has been charged, I would urge everyone to avoid any further speculation in relation to this case so that justice can run its course.”<\/p>\n
The Metropolitan Police said pro-Palestine marches across Britain will be assessed after the UK terrorism threat level was raised to “severe” by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre yesterday, meaning a terror attack is “highly likely”.<\/p>\n
The decision is not solely a result of the Golders Green attack, the Home Office said, adding the threat level in the UK has been “rising for some time”.<\/p>\n
