David Ornstein has provided an update on Tottenham Hotspur target Eberechi Eze, who is set to feature for Crystal Palace against Chelsea on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Spurs<\/strong> <\/a>appear to have moved to the front of the queue for Eze as arch-rivals Arsenal are yet to step up their interest in the England international.<\/p>\n

Eze<\/strong> <\/a>has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League in recent seasons and could cost around \u00a360m.<\/p>\n

On Saturday morning, journalist Sacha Tavolieri claimed \u2018conflict is looming\u2019<\/strong> <\/a>as Eze is due to be \u2018left out\u2019 of Palace\u2019s squad for Sunday\u2019s match against Chelsea.<\/p>\n

He tweeted: \u2018Eberechi Eze pushing to join Tottenham! He agreed on personal terms with Spurs & wants to leave Crystal Palace. Eze expected to be left out of the squad against Chelsea this Sunday. Eze wants to leave #CPFC. Conflict looming\u2026<\/p>\n

Despite this, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided a further update on Eze\u2019s situation on Saturday night, claiming that he could feature for Palace against Chelsea.<\/p>\n

He said on X: \u2018No guarantee yet on Eberechi Eze out of Crystal Palace squad for Chelsea game.<\/p>\n

\u2018Negotiations advancing with Tottenham, agreement done with the player who has informed Palace of his desire\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2026but not a done deal yet; so Glasner and his staff will decide on Sunday morning.\u2019<\/p>\n

Now, The Athletic\u2019s Ornstein has confirmed<\/a> that Eze is \u2018expected to start\u2019 against Chelsea on Sunday, though Tottenham\u2019s \u2018pursuit\u2019 of the attacking midfielder is \u2018ongoing\u2019 as Crystal Palace \u2018work on replacements\u2019.<\/p>\n

Before Tottenham\u2019s 3-0 win against Burnley on Saturday, Spurs boss Thomas Frank provided an update on their transfer plans.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst and foremost, in many ways, I\u2019m very happy with the squad. I think there\u2019s a lot of good players,\u201d Frank said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we saw a team that was very, very, very competitive, and on any other day we would have beaten the best team in Europe.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, we want as strong and competitive squad as possible. I know that Daniel (Levy), Johan (Lange) and Vinai (Venkatesham) are working night and day, and they have, by the way, been working night and day the last, whatever, six, seven, eight weeks.<\/p>\n
