{"id":464326,"date":"2026-05-02T03:45:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T03:45:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/464326\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T03:45:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T03:45:12","slug":"planning-permission-to-be-sought-for-college-green-hotel-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/464326\/","title":{"rendered":"Planning permission to be sought for College Green hotel \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Plans are shortly to be lodged for a new six-storey, 97-bedroom hotel for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/college-green\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/college-green\/\">College Green<\/a> in Dublin 2.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In the planning application to be lodged with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin-city-council\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin-city-council\/\">Dublin City Council<\/a>, businessman Deepak Sharma\u2019s Figs Properties Ltd is seeking planning permission for the hotel at 30-33 College Green, which also fronts on to Suffolk Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The published statutory planning notice   noted that the building at 30-33 College Green was a protected structure. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The hotel development is  also to include a new six-storey extension. The hotel  will also have a spa with treatment rooms and a gym. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"> A cafe, restaurant and bar at ground level will also be provided.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"> Sharma  sold a majority 59 per cent share in his Dublin-based Vita Actives to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dairygold\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dairygold\/\">Dairygold<\/a> in June 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The final set of accounts for Vita Actives Ltd before it became part of the Dairygold group show that revenues increased by 39 per cent to \u20ac41.3 million as pretax profits increased by 23 per cent to \u20ac7.45 million in the 12 months to the end of August 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Separately,  the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/portmarnock-hotel\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/portmarnock-hotel\/\">Portmarnock Hotel<\/a> &amp; Golf Links has secured planning permission from Fingal County Council for an outdoor fresh water swimming pool on the hotel grounds.
