The mystery is finally solved and the Grim Reaper\u2019s scythe has finally swung: the victim of Coronation Street<\/a>\u2019s murder week<\/a> has been revealed.<\/p>\n Yes, the beast has finally been slain, and after nearly a year of abusing Todd Grimshaw<\/a>\u00a0(Gareth Pierce<\/a>) in just about every conceivable way, Theo Silverton<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0(James Cartwright<\/a>) time finally ran out, with his corpse being found in the closing moments of tonight\u2019s episode by Betsy Swain<\/a>\u00a0(Sydney Martin<\/a>), after somebody had taken the ultimate revenge.<\/p>\n Theo, alongside child abuser Megan Walsh<\/a>\u00a0(Beth Nixon<\/a>),\u00a0femme fatale Jodie Ramsey<\/a>\u00a0(Olivia Frances-Brown<\/a>),\u00a0sleazy Carl Webster<\/a>\u00a0(Jonathan Howard<\/a>), and\u00a0killer Maggie Driscoll<\/a>\u00a0(Pauline McLynn<\/a>)\u00a0had all previously been named as potential characters who could be meeting their maker.<\/p>\n The five villains had all had their heinous behaviour exposed over the past few weeks. Megan\u2019s sexual abuse<\/a> of schoolboy, Will Driscoll<\/a>\u00a0(Lucas Hodgson-Wale<\/a>) and psychological torture<\/a> of Sam Blakeman<\/a>\u00a0(Jude Riordan<\/a>) became public knowledge, leading to a showdown with Maggie, who Megan had discovered to be a murderer.<\/p>\n Carl\u2019s manipulation and torment of Debbie Webster<\/a>\u00a0(Sue Devaney<\/a>) reached new heights and those he\u2019d spent months making miserable finally reached the end of their tether, while Jodie\u2019s bold move to finally destroy her sister Shona<\/a>\u00a0(Julia Goulding<\/a>) left her out in the cold.<\/p>\n All the other baddies managed to escape with their life intact, however. Unlike Theo\u2026<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t While seriously unhinged, dangerous and deeply disturbed, Theo had always managed to present a well put together veneer to those who weren\u2019t privy to his true nature. That veneer was cracked however, as Todd\u2019s loved ones discovered the extent of the abuse<\/a> he\u2019d been enduring, and completely fell away after he beat Todd to a pulp<\/a>, leaving him requiring hospitalisation for a lacerated spleen.<\/p>\n With no further need for his mask, Theo let loose with the chaos. <\/p>\n Becoming aware of Todd\u2019s plan to escape Weatherfield for Thailand and a holiday with his mum and brother, Eileen<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Jason<\/a>\u00a0(Sue Cleaver<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Ryan Thomas<\/a>) this week, Todd was shaken as he packed his suitcase and he heard a window smash in the bedroom. Theo had ascended the scaffolding and was hiding behind the door.<\/p>\n Emerging with Todd\u2019s suitcase, Theo eerily attempted to force Todd to share a final meal with him. Only the intervention of worried George Shuttleworth<\/a>\u00a0(Tony Maudsley<\/a>) diverted Theo\u2019s attention, though violence ensued when George and Todd forced Theo into the bathroom, attempting to lock him in.<\/p>\n \t\t They escaped the flat and bumped into Kit Green<\/a>\u00a0(Jacob Roberts<\/a>), pleading for him to arrest Theo for breaching his bail conditions. When Kit summoned police backup and entered the flat, though, Theo had fled.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tDon’t miss a Soaps scoop! As he headed back to retrieve it, he came face to face with Theo and it was painfully clear that Todd was in mortal danger.<\/p>\n A fatal game of cat and mouse then ensued, with poor Summer Spellman<\/a>\u00a0(Harriet Bibby<\/a>) becoming entangled and when all was said and done, Theo was left on the ground, dead.<\/p>\n But who was it that finally brought an end to his reign of terror? According to Gareth Pierce, it could be a number of people!<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018Just as the audience will say that Todd has plenty of motive, they\u2019ll also know that lots of other people have motive as well, especially due to the way that Theo has actively isolated Todd from his closest friends and family,\u2019 Gareth said.<\/p>\n \u2018We\u2019ve seen them start to join the dots and reconnect with Todd and try to extricate him from the relationship over these past few weeks. So I think that those are the people that the audience will have been willing to swoop in as saviours, and\u00a0they will definitely have the spotlight on them.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n \u2018The audience will be wondering if, rather than just save Todd from the situation, they\u2019ve actually gone as far as taking the law into their own hands.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t He added: \u2018People like George\u00a0<\/a>and Summer had definitely seen Theo for who he was. George, Christina [Boyd<\/a>\u00a0(Amy Robbins<\/a>)], Glenda [Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger)] we\u2019ve seen become very protective of Todd. <\/p>\n \u2018Then there\u2019s\u00a0also Carl very much in the frame\u00a0<\/a>having developed this rivalry with Theo and looking in a bad way himself. Also Gary [Windass<\/a>\u00a0(Mikey North<\/a>)] who had that bright friendship and professional partnership with Theo for a time.<\/p>\n \u2018We\u2019ve seen Gary starting to feel genuinely let down and hoodwinked by Theo and we know Gary\u2019s attitude to bullies. So, yeah, you\u2019ve got a fair few people in the frame.\u2019<\/p>\n So that\u2019s one mystery over, and on to the next.
