Goldie Hawn has addressed her years-long acting break, saying she has yet to receive a script she finds truly interesting.<\/p>\n
The First Wives Club actor and \u00admother of Kate Hudson has not appeared on screen since 2020\u2019s The Christmas Chronicles 2, in which she starred opposite her long-time partner Kurt Russell.<\/p>\n
However, Hawn (80), whose career has spanned more than 60 years, is not opposed to returning.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has to do with the content,\u201d she told People. \u201cActing for acting\u2019s sake, taking things… I\u2019ve read a lot of shows, a lot of scripts that I didn\u2019t like or I didn\u2019t think I\u2019d fit.\u201d<\/p>\n
Still, she\u2019s not waiting around with bated breath.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe one thing about acting is that I\u2019ve done it and I had a great career, and I honour that,\u201d the Oscar-winning actor said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would love to get a material that could actually be like, \u2018Oh my God, I want this so bad. This is so funny. She\u2019s so crazy. She\u2019s so interesting\u2019. But I haven\u2019t come across it. If somebody came up with a really cool, funny script … I think it would be great.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite her prolific career, starring in classic films including Private Benjamin (1980), Overboard (1987), and Death Becomes Her (1992), Hawn has yet to work alongside her daughter, Hudson (47).<\/p>\n
Speaking to Variety last November, Hudson said she would love to work with her mother, but \u201cit has to be the right project\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cNothing so far has felt right,\u201d she said. \u201cPeople have tried, but the material hasn\u2019t fit. I\u2019d love something in the spirit of Postcards from the Edge, but that kind of role hasn\u2019t been presented to us.
