Nintendo Switch finally gets the Halo port we\u2019ve always dreamed of, but it might not quite be the port you\u2019d think it is.<\/p>\n
The Halo<\/a> series is one of the most popular first-party brands on Xbox<\/a>, ever since its inception in November 2001 as a launch title for Microsoft\u2019s original console with Halo: Combat Evolved.<\/p>\n Since that time, Halo has seen tons of sequels (for better or worse), spin-offs, as well as an ill-fated live-action TV series<\/a> and more. However, speaking of Halo: Combat Evolved and being one of Xbox\u2019s most popular first-party brands, not only is this beloved game getting a remake, but it\u2019s also coming to PlayStation 5<\/a>.<\/p>\n Is the Halo: Combat Evolved Remake Coming to Other Platforms?<\/strong><\/p>\n At the time of writing, the remake, Halo: Campaign Evolved, is coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X\/S at some point this year. There is no word whether it\u2019s releasing on Nintendo Switch 2, at least not yet.<\/p>\n However, while it\u2019s not the official remake, or even a remake at all, a devoted fan has managed to make Halo: Combat Evolved playable on the base Nintendo Switch.<\/p>\n \u201cGot Halo: Combat Evolved running on the Nintendo Switch without cloud streaming too!\u201d tweeted Generalkidd.<\/p>\n How is Halo: Combat Evolved playable on Nintendo Switch?<\/strong><\/p>\n As you probably guessed, Halo: Combat Evolved is playable on the Nintendo Switch via emulation, Generalkidd explains. More specifically, it\u2019s the original Xbox version (not PC) and is using \u201can ARM64 build of Xemu.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cTEACH ME YOUR WAYS, HEED, I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO ADD THIS TO MY MODDED SWITCH!\u201d pleaded Im_JustKad.<\/p>\n That being said, in the comments, Generalkidd suggested that the performance of this emulation isn’t that great at this time, but they will be sharing a tutorial video on how to make Halo: Combat Evolved playable on the hybrid console.
