Ipswich secured their return to the Premier League with a 3-0 win over QPR at Portman Road on a great day for their contingent of Ireland internationals.<\/p>\n

Relegated back to the Championship last season, The Tractor Boys knew they only needed to better the results of Middlesbrough and Millwall to confirm their return to the top flight.<\/p>\n

Goals from George Hirst and Jaden Philogene-Bidace put them comfortably in front after just nine minutes on the clock and they would hold firm until an Irish link-up put their promotion beyond doubt.<\/p>\n

The party would fully kick off with five minutes to play when Ipswich scored their third after some industrious work from Ireland midfielder Jack Taylor.<\/p>\n

He picked out his international teammate Kasey McAteer, who was quickest to react and his goal sent things into full gear.<\/p>\n

There was a timely pitch invasion at full-time as the club basked in its return to the big time.<\/p>\n

Ireland stars loved singing with Ed Sheeran after Ipswich win<\/p>\n

Superstar singer Ed Sheeran, a life-long Ipswich supporter and minority shareholder in the club, was in attendance for the win in East Anglia.<\/p>\n

Unsurpringsly he was right in the meat of the post-match celebrations as Taylor, McAteer and Ireland’s Dara O’Shea belted out his hit ‘A-Team’ following the win.<\/p>\n

Arm-in-arm with Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna, who grew up in County Fermanagh, Sheeran drank a pint of Guinness as he sang out his own song with the squad.<\/p>\n
