Ansari’s version of the official addressed reporters in exaggerated fashion and joking about his own performance in office.“You guys should not be reporting the lies and the gossip,” Ansari’s Patel told reporters. He added: “You should be reporting on the historic nature of my appointment. I’m a trailblazer. I’m the first Indian person to suck at their job.”In the segment, the character continued with self-deprecating humour and Indian stereotypes, saying, “Everyone says Indian people are smart, hardworking, incredibly intelligent. I’ve proved without a shadow of a doubt that we can be just as incapable and incompetent as the whites.”The sketch also referenced ongoing reports about Patel’s behaviour and competence in office, including claims about heavy drinking issues, missing meetings, using federal resources for personal leisure, and also giving special privileges to his girlfriend and country singer Alexis Wilkins. These were played for comedic effect, with Ansari’s character dismissing them in an over-the-top manner.“Let me be clear: this FBI director has never been drunk or hungover on the job,” he said.He went on to add, “And this FBI director has definitely not stood on top of a couch at the VIP room of Tao Nightclub and Asian Bistro and shouted, ‘Who wants the nuclear codes?!’”The appearance comes after months of online speculation that Ansari would eventually be cast in the role, with fans on social media suggesting he would be a natural fit for the satire. A viral post on Reddit received tens of thousands of upvotes calling for his casting. The sketch also touched on political rumours surrounding Patel’s standing with US President Donald Trump, portraying him as overly confident about his position despite speculation of him being axed from the administration.“President Trump loves me,” the character said.He added: “Everybody loves me. Even the correspondents’ dinner shooter said, ‘Kill everyone but Mr. Patel.’ You get a shoutout like that in a psycho’s manifesto, you must be doing something right.”The line referenced the recent DC shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where a gunman reportedly attempted to breach the venue while Trump and senior officials were present. Everyone was safely evacuated, although a security agent was injured. Authorities later discovered a 1,000-word manifesto written by the suspected shooter, 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen. In the document, the shooter allegedly expressed intent to target senior Trump administration figures but named Kash Patel as someone he intended to spare.Reporters in the SNL sketch also questioned the character about alleged technical issues at work, including claims he once struggled to log into a computer system. It was a reference to the instance where Kash thought he was fired and locked out of the system.“That’s just more lies,” Ansari’s Patel said.He added: “I’ve always been able to log into my e-mail, except for a brief 36-hour period of time when I forgot I had changed my password to CashMeOutside69.”

Saturday Night Live has drawn attention after a recent episode featured a surprise cameo by actor-comedian Aziz Ansari,…

[265
31653,205111,18,117,205110,19,17,14805,3605,128
0":"post-467183","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tv","8":"tag-aziz-ansari","9":"tag-comedy-sketch","10":"tag-eire","11":"tag-entertainment","12":"tag-fbi-director","13":"tag-ie","14":"tag-ireland","15":"tag-kash-patel","16":"tag-saturday-night-live","17":"tag-tv
["GET
