{"id":468026,"date":"2026-05-04T14:42:22","date_gmt":"2026-05-04T14:42:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/468026\/"},"modified":"2026-05-04T14:42:22","modified_gmt":"2026-05-04T14:42:22","slug":"asia-races-to-de-risk-critical-minerals-supply-chain-with-new-financing-tool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/468026\/","title":{"rendered":"Asia races to de-risk critical minerals supply chain with new financing tool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has launched a new financing facility aimed at strengthening critical mineral supply chains across the Asia-Pacific region, as a global push to loosen China\u2019s chokehold over the sector continues.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The initiative is designed to help Asia-Pacific nations move up the critical minerals value chain \u2013 moving beyond just mining \u2013 by equipping them with the technical capabilities to process and recycle the materials, according to the ADB.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cAsia and the Pacific should be more than a source of raw materials,\u201d said Masato Kanda, the bank\u2019s president, in a press release on Sunday. \u201cThe region should also capture the jobs, technology and value these minerals provide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Several countries have committed to the scheme.
