Deadpool & Wolverine<\/strong> star Ryan Reynolds<\/a> has finally broken his silence about the Avengers logo he posted on Instagram nearly a month ago. The post ultimately went viral as it seemingly teased Deadpool\u2019s potential appearance<\/a> in Avengers: Doomsday<\/a><\/strong>, which is still set to debut on December 18, 2026.<\/p>\n

During a recent interview with Collider, when asked about his viral post\u2019s connection to his possible involvement in Avengers: Doomsday, Reynolds explained that he actually posted one of his favorite props from Deadpool & Wolverine that didn\u2019t make it into the final cut. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe thing I posted on social that is actually a variant of the flag that we use in Deadpool & Wolverine,\u201d Reynolds said. \u201cIt was my favorite. For some reason, you watch a movie later that has that many alts and all that stuff, and you go, \u2018Why didn\u2019t I choose that one? There were five other great jokes for that.\u2019 That\u2019s how it works, and that was just a flag. I just came across it, and I was like, \u2018Oh yeah, I loved that flag. The red and black vibe.\u2019 And then, you know, there\u2019s always talk. We\u2019re figuring out what\u2019s next in that world and blah, blah, blah.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite his explanation, Reynolds didn\u2019t exactly reveal the reason why he decided to just post it now, especially when production on Doomsday is currently underway. Interestingly, he also didn\u2019t directly deny or confirm the rumors about Deadpool\u2019s role<\/a> in the next Avengers movie. However, he did tease that they\u2019re still \u201cfiguring out\u201d what\u2019s next for his character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. <\/p>\n

Avengers: Doomsday is being directed by Avengers: Endgame filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo from a screenplay written by Stephen McFeely. The latest installment will feature the return of Marvel vets Robert Downey Jr.<\/a> and Chris Hemsworth<\/a>, with Chris Evans rumored<\/a> to appear. However, this time, the Oppenheimer actor will be playing a completely different role in the form of Victor von Doom\/Doctor Doom. The ensemble cast will also include Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Letitia Wright, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, and Danny Ramirez, along with X-Men stars Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen\u2018s Magneto, Alan Cumming\u2018s Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn\u2018s Mystique, James Marsden\u2018s Cyclops, and Channing Tatum\u2018s Gambit. <\/p>\n
