\n\tUniversal has released a new trailer for Christopher Nolan<\/a>\u2018s \u201cThe Odyssey<\/a>.\u201d The latest glimpse into the world of Homer\u2019s Greek epic shows Matt Damon\u2019s Odysseus doing battle with the Cyclops, as Robert Pattinson\u2019s villainous Antinous tries to take the throne of Ithaca. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe trailer debuted first on Monday night\u2019s episode of \u201cThe Late Show with Stephen Colbert.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to Damon as the titular seafaring hero, the film also stars Anne Hathaway as Odysseus\u2019 wife, Penelope; Tom Holland as their son, Telemachus; Pattinson as Ithacan suitor, Antinous; Zendaya as goddess of wisdom, Athena; and Charlize Theron as goddess of witchcraft, Circe. The enormous cast also includes Lupita Nyong\u2019o, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, Jimmy Gonzales, Elliot Page and Jovan Adepo among dozens of other stars depicting characters from the epic poem.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Odyssey\u201d is Christopher Nolan\u2019s 13th directorial feature film. He wrote the screenplay based on the ancient poem and produced it alongside Emma Thomas under their production company Syncopy. Universal Pictures is distributing the film.<\/p>\n

\n\tNolan and Thomas\u2019 last film was 2023\u2019s \u201cOppenheimer,\u201d which grossed $958.8 million and garnered 13 Academy Award nominations. It took home seven of the Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director for Nolan, Best Actor for star Cillian Murphy and Best Supporting Actor for co-star Robert Downey Jr.<\/p>\n

\n\tJust as \u201cOppenheimer\u201d shared a release date with Warner Bros.\u2019 \u201cBarbie\u201d in 2023, \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d will release concurrently with Disney and Sony\u2019s prospective blockbuster \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day\u201d on July\u00a017.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Odyssey\u201d will make history as the first narrative film to be shot entirely with Imax cameras. In a promotional stunt, tickets were released for 70mm screenings a year in advance back in July 2025.<\/p>\n
