{"id":469368,"date":"2026-05-05T10:44:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T10:44:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/469368\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T10:44:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T10:44:11","slug":"man-utd-detailed-breakdown-of-how-ineos-plan-to-spend-150m-on-three-midfielders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/469368\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Utd: Detailed breakdown of how INEOS plan to spend \u00a3150m on three midfielders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Man Utd will attempt to buy three midfielders for \u00a3150m as a report reveals exactly how the Red Devils plan to spend their money.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Devils hierarchy were criticised last summer for failing to improve their midfield after opting to spend the majority of their budget on attacking players.<\/p>\n<p>That tactic seems to have worked as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/manchester-united\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Man Utd<\/strong><\/a> went from scoring the fifth least goals in the Premier League to the third most so far this term.<\/p>\n<p>Man Utd are now planning to use a large chunk of their summer budget on finally improving their midfield with Casemiro leaving on a free transfer at the end of the season, while Manuel Ugarte is expected to be sold.<\/p>\n<p>That leaves Man Utd light on numbers in there and there have been constant rumours over the past six months about who the Red Devils could sign.<\/p>\n<p>A report earlier today insisted that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/man-utd-identify-new-casemiro-with-red-devils-leading-the-race-for-premier-league-star\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Man Utd are \u2018leading the race\u2019 to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba<\/strong><\/a>, while Nottingham Forest\u2019s Elliot Anderson, Newcastle\u2019s Sandro Tonali and West Ham\u2019s Mateus Fernandes are just a few of the players linked.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/feature-ranking-20-biggest-summer-signings-gyokeres-wirtz\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Man Utd trio in top five as Wirtz reverts in ranking of 20 biggest summer signings<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.com\/sport\/football\/article-15789325\/Man-United-150m-summer-transfers.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Daily Mail is now reporting that<\/a> Man Utd are \u2018ready to spend in the region of \u00a3150million to sign three central midfielders this summer\u2019 as they look to push the Red Devils towards a title challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Man Utd are clear on how much they want to spend on each midfielder and the Red Devils \u2018have earmarked around \u00a380m for a marquee signing to replace Casemiro\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Devils are expecting Ugarte to be sold this summer and are \u2018prepared to spend around \u00a340m\u2019 on replacing the Uruguay international, who signed from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth around \u00a350m.<\/p>\n<p>There seems to be a \u00a310m bit of leeway in the \u00a315om figures with the Daily Mail insisting that Man Utd \u2018could strengthen their squad by signing a third midfielder for about \u00a320m\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The report names Anderson \u2013 who is unlikely to cost too much \u2013 Baleba, Tonali, Crystal Palace\u2019s Adam Wharton and Real Madrid\u2019s Aurelien Tchouameni as potential targets for the \u00a380m \u2018marquee signing\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/manchester-united-peter-schmeichel-sunderland-granit-xhaka\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Peter Schmeichel tells Man Utd to \u2018go and sign\u2019 midfielder Arsenal dumped for \u00a321m<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>West Ham\u2019s Fernandes, as well as Bournemouth duo Alex Scott and Tyler Adams seem to fall into the \u00a340m bracket, while Southampton\u2019s Shea Charles is the only name mentioned as potentially falling into the \u00a320m section.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ferdinand: Anderson is \u2018a wonderful player\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand reckons the Red Devils should be prioritising a move to sign Nottingham Forest\u2019s Anderson this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel: \u201cBeginning of the season everyone was talking about [Carlos] Baleba, he seems to have gone off the boil a little bit form wise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElliot Anderson, he seems to have jumped to the front of the queue. I think he\u2019s a wonderful player.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think Elliot Anderson is the right type not only of player but character, I think he\u2019d be a good addition to the squad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTonali is a big talent that everyone is talking about, Guimaraes is another big talent that everyone is talking about, but I just think the type of midfielder United need is somebody who is a bit more all-action, who can cover ground, who is dynamic, who is robust, strong, who can drive a team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now Anderson seems to be ticking those boxes.
