Oprah Winfrey is coming to Dublin’s 3Arena later this year where she will open up about her incredible career where she has interviewed the most famous people on the planet\"Oprah<\/p>\n

Television icon Oprah Winfrey has sat down with some of the world’s most famous faces, from Michael Jackson and Prince Harry to Tom Cruise \u2014 but she once had to step in during an interview with her “worst guest”.<\/p>\n

The legendary presenter previously revealed she had spoken to more than 37,000 people throughout The Oprah Winfrey Show’s run between 1986 and 2011.<\/p>\n

The media powerhouse sparked excitement amongst Irish fans last week when she announced she’ll be sharing insights into her remarkable career before a live audience at Dublin’s 3Arena<\/a> this September.<\/p>\n

Presale tickets for the exclusive one-night-only event launch on Wednesday (May 6), and attendees may well hear about some of her more uncomfortable encounters with guests throughout the years.<\/p>\n

She previously discussed her “worst guests” when musician Harry Connick Jr asked: “Has anyone been particularly annoying, where you’re just like, ‘Gosh, I can’t wait for this person to leave?'”<\/p>\n

Her response was: “Well, I mean, the worst kind of guest–you’ve had this, too–is when you ask them question and they start talking about 1975, and then you think, ‘Oh, we are in 2017. How long is it going to take us to get to 2017?’ That’s the worst.<\/p>\n

“The other worst guests, for me, are those who think whatever they are talking about is so spectacular, and you know it’s not. So, my go to word was always, ‘Wow.’ Like, ‘Wow! Really?'”<\/p>\n

She went on to disclose that her “worst” guest was a lawyer who required her intervention during the conversation. Oprah, now aged 72, recalled: “I had a guest on who was a lawyer – I can’t remember the show – and he mentioned the book 29 times. That’s after I started counting.<\/p>\n

“Every sentence started ‘In my book, in my book, and if you buy my book,’ and so finally, around third segment, I said, ‘We all know the name of the book. Audience, tell him the name of the book… so you don’t have to say the name of the book anymore.’<\/p>\n

“After that we started to have conversations. Our intention was to tell the people, ‘You don’t have to sell your book. I will mention the book. I will take care of the book’.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Up Close with Oprah Winfrey at the 3Arena is set for September 14, where the American icon will be in conversation with David Meade.<\/p>\n

Ticket prices range from \u20ac25 (\u00a321) up to a rather steep \u20ac695 (\u00a3600) for those fancying the VIP treatment.<\/p>\n

Boss of Up Close, Norma Murphy, described Oprah as her “inspirational compass” since childhood, adding: “I was mesmerised by her warmth, empathy, and energy. She treats vulnerability as strength and believes true success lies in lifting others.
