Netflix announced The Night Agent will be coming to an end with its fourth and final season.<\/p>\n
The streamer announced production on the new season of the Gabriel Basso-led series has officially begun in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
Series creator, executive producer and showrunner Shawn Ryan teased the show will end with a \u201cproper and thrilling conclusion\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cEver since the initial success of The Night Agent, I\u2019ve been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland\u2019s journey,\u201d Ryan said in a statement. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me on The Night Agent and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans. We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget.\u201d<\/p>\n
The hit series stars Basso as a low-level FBI agent named Peter Sutherland, who finds himself in the midst of a massive conspiracy that leads all the way to the Oval Office.<\/p>\n
The series recently returned with its third season, which saw Peter hunt down a young Treasury Agent who fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intel. The mission helps him uncover a dark money network that puts him in the path of a relentless journalist.<\/p>\n
Details regarding The Night Agent Season 4 are still being kept under wraps. But it will likely be another globetrotting adventure as Peter grapples with the stakes of his line of work.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s definitely flawed. He doesn\u2019t always make the right decision,\u201d Ryan told Netflix\u2019s Tudum of Basso\u2019s character. \u201cPeter desperately wants to do the right thing, wants the best for the most people, but the line of work he\u2019s in demands that you don\u2019t always get to choose between right and wrong \u2014 sometimes you have to choose between wrong and bigger wrong.\u201d <\/p>\n
The Night Agent Season 3 premiered in February, when it quickly landed in the Netflix Top 10. The streamer reports the new season had 5.2 million views, putting the show at No. 3 of the Top 10 U.S. Series list.<\/p>\n
The show has long ranked in the streamer\u2019s Top 10 lists, where it spent 17 weeks after its premiere in 2023.<\/p>\n
