\n\tElla Purnell<\/a> and Nicholas Galitzine<\/a> give their best aristocratic snarls in the first look from the \u201cseductive\u201d thriller \u201cThe Return of Stanley Atwell.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tNow in production in the U.K. and Malta, the film has also welcomed Damian Lewis<\/a> to the cast, the \u201cBand of Brothers\u201d and \u201cHomeland\u201d star seen tux\u2019d up and brooding from across a smoky bar in another new image. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Return of Stanley Atwell\u201d comes from Hera Pictures<\/a>, the BAFTA and Oscar-nominated banner behind recent awards season favorite \u201cHamnet,\u201d and is co-produced with John Gore Studios. <\/p>\n

\n\tAlongside Lewis, also joining the film are Jess Alexander, (\u201cThe Beauty,\u201d \u201cAmadeus\u201d) Adrian Rawlins, (\u201cRose of Nevada,\u201d \u201cSlow Horses\u201d) Will Keen (\u201cHis Dark Materials,\u201d \u201cThe Crown\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\tWritten and directed by Brian Welsh (\u201cBeats,\u201d \u201cBlack Mirror\u201d), \u201cThe Return of Stanley Atwell\u201d is based on an original story by Oscar winner Steven Soderbergh, who also serves as executive producer. The film marks Welsh\u2019s second collaboration with Soderbergh following their debut \u201cBeats,\u201d and his second collaboration with Liza Marshall and Hera Pictures after the BAFTA nominated BBC drama \u201cWhat It Feels Like for a Girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs per the synopsis, the story follows Stanley Atwell (Galitzine), the presumed dead son and heir to Lord Atwell\u2019s title and fortune, after he unexpectedly returns to the family estate having escaped a decade of mysterious captivity. Atwell\u2019s shocking reappearance causes chaos as he finds his sister Beatrice fighting to claim his inheritance, whilst close friend Pamela (Purnell) manipulates his puzzling return, and a dark family secret, in a bid to seize control of the Atwell fortune. Sex, passion, backstabbing and betrayal wreak havoc across the estate as the lies and deception the Atwell name has been built upon start to unravel. How far is each family member willing to go to protect their own wealth and status\u2026 and what is really behind the return of Stanley Atwell?<\/p>\n

Soderbergh serves as executive producer with Hilary Strong and Francis Hopkinson executive producing for John Gore Studios, alongside Dave Bishop and George Hamilton for Protagonist Pictures.<\/p>\n
