A “wonderful” Dublin teacher has died following an accident in a Dublin<\/a> village on Easter Monday.<\/p>\n

Fiona Holland was seriously injured after being hit by a bus at Terenure Cross on Monday, April 6. She was rushed to Beaumont Hospital but sadly died from her injuries on May 1 surrounded by her family.<\/p>\n

Fiona was a third class teacher at Scoil Maelruain senior school in Old Bawn, Tallaght<\/a>. Tributes were posted on social media by I Love Terenure, with condolences also coming from students, both past and present, as well as colleagues on RIP.ie.<\/p>\n

I Love Terenure said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fiona Holland (Clarke). Fiona was involved in an accident in Terenure Village on Easter Monday. She fought a long and courageous battle, but tragically passed away at Beaumont Hospital on 1st May, surrounded by her loving family.<\/p>\n

“Fiona was a much-loved teacher at Scoil Maelruain\u2019s Senior National School, Old Bawn. We know she will be deeply missed by her students and colleagues, as well as the wider community of Terenure. Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with her husband Ian and her adored daughters, Melissa, Maria and Rose, at this very difficult time. The whole community has the family in its thoughts and prayers. May dear Fiona rest in peace.”<\/p>\n

Following the accident, gardai appealed for witnesses. A garda<\/a> spokeswoman said: “Garda\u00ed are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury road traffic collision that occurred in Terenure, Dublin today Monday 6th April 2026. Shortly after 10am, Garda\u00ed and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a pedestrian and a bus at Terenure Cross, Terenure, Dublin 6W.<\/p>\n

“The pedestrian, a female (40s), was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.”<\/p>\n
