Kylie Minogue<\/a> is preparing to shed new light on her fiery, but short-lived, romance with Michael Hutchence in a tell-all docuseries.<\/a> about her life.<\/p>\n

The Spinning Around singer, 57, is set to lift the lid on the highs and lows of her career and personal life and has teased she’ll talk about her time with late INXS singer Michael.<\/p>\n

The trailer released yesterday showed archival images of Kylie and her ex-boyfriend with images of the pair kissing and posing with one another.<\/p>\n

Former Neighbours starlet Kylie was just 21 when she met Michael at an INXS afterparty in 1989.<\/p>\n

He told approached her and said: \u201cI don\u2019t know what we should do first, have lunch or have sex.” The actress s aid she was both intrigued and scared by his bold claim and their instant chemistry.<\/p>\n

In a 2014 interview with Current Affair, Kylie added of their encounter: “He did ask to kiss me numerous times and I did say no numerous times.”<\/p>\n

Michael and Kylie dated shortly after she ended things with her Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan, who she was with from 1986 to 1989. She and Michael were together for three years until 1991, and Kylie has said in previous interviews that this relationship was formative for her young adult years.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo have someone like that open your eyes to many, many things in a rock and roll way, in a poetic way, in a lovable, humorous, amazing way, obviously it was a great time,\u201d she said. “Even when it was slightly on the wild side, he was always very tender with me. I was a precious little thing to him, so amongst the headiness, it was always very sweet.”<\/p>\n

In the 2019 documentary, Mystify: Michael Hutchence, Kylie described Michael as \u201ca dark bad boy\u201d and herself as \u201cthe pure good girl.”<\/p>\n

She added that he was a ‘sensual’ person and awakened that in her too: “Sex, love, food, drugs, music, travel, books, you name it, he wanted to experience it,\u201d she said. \u201cAs his partner, I got to experience a lot of that as well. If you\u2019re a sensual being, all of your senses need stimulation. He definitely awakened my desire for things in my world<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

In the same documentary, Kylie opened up about their split, admitting she can’t remember why they ended things: “Was it work, was it the drugs? I don\u2019t know. He was like a broken man,” she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was on all fours on the floor crying. I didn\u2019t know what to do, I didn\u2019t know what was happening. I just know he was a broken man. I\u2019d never seen any man like that before. I left pretty confounded and destroyed and knew that was it. He broke my heart. I have to confess that the hurt stayed for quite a long time.”<\/p>\n

Michael went on to date model Helena Christensen, and later presenter Paul Yates, with whom he shared a daughter, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence, who was born in 1996. He died by suicide a year later in 1997. Kylie attended his funeral which took place in Sydney.<\/p>\n

In January 2026, the star shared an image of herself with Michael on what would have been his birthday. She has spoken about his death many times, claiming that she feels he is still with her and has been a ‘guardian angel’ on some of her tours.<\/p>\n
