Princess Anne has never needed a new outfit<\/a> to make a statement. On Wednesday, the Princess Royal<\/a> wore a long red peacoat she has owned for at least 26 years to a special ceremony at London\u2019s Hyde Park, marking the third anniversary of King Charles\u2019s coronation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The coat has become one of her most recognizable repeat pieces. Princess Anne was photographed on her at the Christmas walk at Sandringham as far back as 2000 and brought it out again recently this past December 25<\/a>. She was also spotted wearing it to one of her favorite annual events, the Cheltenham Festival horse races, in 2024.<\/p>\n

The Princess accessorized the long coat with two gold brooches: a horse-shaped pin she has worn as far back as 1987<\/a>, and a second in the shape of a palm leaf.<\/p>\n

Arriving by horse-drawn carriage<\/a>, Princess Anne, 75, spoke with soldiers and later watched from a platform as 41 rounds were fired at noon by the King\u2019s Troop Royal Horse Artillery. That was followed by a second salute by the Honorable Artillery Company. She also carried out an inspection of the King\u2019s Troop Royal Horse Artillery regiment following their salute. Both regiments participated in the original coronation day salutes in 2023, firing at the precise moment the crown was placed on King Charles\u2019s head at Westminster Abbey.<\/p>\n

Princess Anne serves as a Counsellor of State for King Charles, one of a small group of senior royals<\/a> authorized to act on the sovereign\u2019s behalf when he is absent, whether abroad or unwell. King Charles just returned from his royal trip to the United States<\/a>, which was capped off with a solo visit to Bermuda. The King spoke of his sister in a speech while there, noting Princess Anne has visited the Commonwealth island territory many times and remarking, \u201cShe goes everywhere in the world and I can’t keep up with it!\u201d<\/p>\n
