Is Superman\u2019s next villain Springtrap<\/a>? Or Ghsotface<\/a>? Not quite. Matthew Lillard<\/a> is taking a trip from Freddy Fazbear\u2019s Pizza to Metropolis for the upcoming Superman movie. James Gunn seemingly confirmed<\/a> that Lillard is joining the cast of Superman 2: Man of Tomorrow<\/a> by posting a photo of them together, on Threads<\/a>, of course. \u201cJust casually hanging out with my longtime friend @matthewlillard<\/a> for no reason,\u201d he wrote. It\u2019s a Scooby Doo reunion that\u2019s not nostalgia bait; Gunn wrote the Scooby Doo (2002)<\/a> movie, which many fondly remember Lillard\u2019s performance as Shaggy.<\/p>\n

While Lillard\u2019s casting isn\u2019t a result of Quentin Tarantino\u2019s rude comments<\/a> from last year, his unnecessary callout did remind other filmmakers that Lillard would be a great addition to their movie. It\u2019s basically a reverse Barbara Streisand effect; if someone is trying to share an unfavorable opinion about you, it only makes other people hire you more. At the time, George Clooney<\/a> said he would be \u201chonored\u201d to work with Lillard, so if Gunn has another role he needs to cast, he should give Clooney a call.<\/p>\n
