\n\tHope Valley: 1874<\/a> will be back for another go-round. Touting the series\u2019 debut as \u201cthe most successful launch of a Hallmark+<\/a> series to date,\u201d the streamer has renewed the popular When Calls The Heart<\/a> prequel for a second season. The eight-episode Season 2 will premiere in 2027. The renewal news comes just ahead of the Season 1 finale, Thursday, May 7.<\/p>\n

\n\tBethany Joy Lenz stars along with Benjamin Ayres,\u00a0Jill Hennessy, Roan Curtis\u00a0and\u00a0Lachlan Quarmby.\u00a0 Also featured are\u00a0Jedidiah Goodacre,\u00a0Mila Morgan,\u00a0Brad Abramenko\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<\/strong>Chelsea Hobbs.<\/p>\n

\n\tBased on\u00a0Janette Oke\u2019s\u00a0novel\u00a0When\u00a0Calls\u00a0the\u00a0Heart, the\u00a0series explores\u00a0the\u00a0earliest days of\u00a0the\u00a0frontier settlement that later became Hope Valley, chronicling\u00a0the\u00a0courage, resilience and relationships that laid\u00a0the\u00a0foundation for\u00a0the\u00a0close-knit town viewers have come to love. Lenz portrays Rebecca Clarke, a recent widow who travels with her 11-year-old daughter Sarah (Morgan) to\u00a0the\u00a0Western Canadian frontier to escape a threat back home and make a fresh start following her husband\u2019s death.\u00a0\u00a0When\u00a0she discovers\u00a0the\u00a0boarding house she purchased sight unseen needed extensive renovations, Rebecca faced a tougher road ahead than she had imagined.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThanks to\u00a0the\u00a0fledgling community that embraces\u00a0them \u2013 including local rancher and confirmed bachelor Tom Moore (Ayres), with whom she becomes close, and Hattie Quinn (Hennessy), a widow herself who runs\u00a0the\u00a0trading post with\u00a0the\u00a0help of her daughter Olivia (Curtis) \u2013 Rebecca and Sarah become an intrinsic part of\u00a0the\u00a0settlement and\u00a0they begin to find\u00a0their way.\u00a0 Helping keep\u00a0the\u00a0peace between\u00a0the\u00a0ranchers and gold prospectors who are at odds with each other is Constable Alexander Vaughn (Quarmby), who becomes smitten with Olivia, much to\u00a0the\u00a0dismay of local blacksmith Clayton Cooley (Goodacre), who has long harbored feelings for her.\u00a0 As\u00a0the\u00a0season comes to a close a sudden turn of events leaves\u00a0their futures uncertain.<\/p>\n
