{"id":472622,"date":"2026-05-07T08:05:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T08:05:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/472622\/"},"modified":"2026-05-07T08:05:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T08:05:11","slug":"kumanjayi-little-baby-vigils-to-be-held-across-australia-for-girl-allegedly-murdered-in-outback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/472622\/","title":{"rendered":"Kumanjayi Little Baby: Vigils to be held across Australia for girl allegedly murdered in Outback"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vigil attendees don pink clothes for 5-year-old girl allegedly murderedpublished at 07:48 BST<\/p>\n<p>07:48 BST<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Vigils are set to be held in the coming hours for a 5-year-old Australian girl who was allegedly murdered. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The body of the girl, known as Kumanjayi Little Baby for cultural reasons, was found on 30 April, five days after she went missing from an Aboriginal town camp near Alice Springs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Jefferson Lewis, 47, has been charged with her alleged murder, which sparked riots in Alice Springs amid an outpouring of grief and anger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The vigil in Alice Springs will be held at the Anzac sports oval at 17.30 local time (08:00 GMT).
