{"id":473498,"date":"2026-05-07T19:06:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T19:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/473498\/"},"modified":"2026-05-07T19:06:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T19:06:12","slug":"blake-lively-and-justin-baldonis-it-ends-with-us-settlement-details","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/473498\/","title":{"rendered":"Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni&#8217;s &#8216;It Ends With Us&#8217; Settlement Details"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/blake-lively\/\" id=\"auto-tag_blake-lively\" data-tag=\"blake-lively\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Blake Lively<\/a>\u2018s attorneys have described her settlement with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/justin-baldoni\/\" id=\"auto-tag_justin-baldoni\" data-tag=\"justin-baldoni\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Justin Baldoni<\/a> over It Ends With Us a \u201cresounding victory,\u201d as the parties submitted paperwork withdrawing the case on Thursday morning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe agreement was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/blake-lively-justin-baldoni-settle-it-ends-with-us-lawsuit-1235557465\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reached Monday<\/a>, nearly a year and a half after Lively sued Baldoni for the alleged sexual harassment she experienced while filming the domestic violence movie and the alleged smear campaign launched against her during the film\u2019s press tour in summer 2024. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAlthough the matter is now effectively settled with prejudice, Baldoni agreed that Lively can still seek attorney fees and treble and punitive damages over Baldoni filing a since-dismissed counter-defamation lawsuit against her. No matter the outcome of the judge\u2019s decision, neither party will appeal the ruling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tSeveral <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/blake-lively-justin-baldoni-no-money-settlement-1235558414\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">outlets reported<\/a> on Tuesday that neither Lively nor Baldoni would receive compensation as a result of the settlement, which arrived less than two weeks before the suit was set to go to trial. The trial was expected to last six to eight weeks. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cBy agreeing to this settlement, and waiving their right to appeal, Justin Baldoni and every individual defendant now face personal liability for abusing the legal system to silence and intimidate Ms. Lively,\u201d her attorneys Michael Gottlieb and Esra Hudson said in a statement provided to Rolling Stone. \u201cAnd by admitting that Ms. Lively\u2019s concerns \u2018deserved to be heard,\u2019 the defendants have ended once and for all the fiction that Ms. Lively \u2018fabricated\u2019 claims of sexual harassment and retaliation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThey added: \u201cFrom day one Blake Lively\u2019s mission was clear: expose and hold accountable those who weaponize smear campaigns and retaliatory lawsuits to intimidate and silence survivors.\u00a0That mission continues.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tRepresentatives for Baldoni did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone\u2019s request for comment. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn December 2024, months after the premiere of the blockbuster It Ends With Us, a movie Baldoni directed and Lively co-produced that starred both of them, Lively <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/blake-lively-it-ends-with-us-justin-baldoni-sexual-harassment-lawsuit-1235214417\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">filed a suit<\/a> alleging that Baldoni caused her \u201csevere emotional distress\u201d and harassed her sexually on set. She claimed Baldoni talked about his \u201cpornography addiction,\u201d past sexual encounters, and the genitalia of cast and crew. The situation was so toxic, the suit claimed, Sony Pictures had to be brought in for an emergency meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\t\tEditor\u2019s picks<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tOther claims in Lively\u2019s original suit included Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath walking in on her while she was breastfeeding; Heath showing her a video of his wife naked; and the necessity for Lively to draw lines on the number of explicit sex scenes in the movie, which adapted Colleen Hoover\u2019s novel of the same name.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAfter news of the on-set discord spread in the media, Lively alleged that Baldoni hired Wayfarer Studios\u2019 publicity department for \u201ccrisis management,\u201d in an attempt to \u201cdestroy\u201d her reputation. Several instances of alleged messages between Baldoni and PR reps seemed to show speculation on their part of how they could control the narrative.<\/p>\n<p>\t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tTen out of 13 of Lively\u2019s claims, including her allegations of sexual harassment, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/blake-lively-unfazed-lawsuit-claims-dismissed-1235541877\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">were dismissed<\/a> before they reached a settlement. The scheduled trial was to address Lively\u2019s accusations of breach of contract and retaliation. Prior to the settlement, lawyers from both sides had been arguing at a hearing about how much Lively claimed she had lost as a result of the lawsuit. Lively\u2019s team estimated the figure was between $39 million and $143 million, while Baldoni\u2019s placed it at $21 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tBaldoni countersued Lively for $400 million, accusing her of defamation and claiming she\u2019d walk away from the project unless he met her demands, but a judge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/justin-baldoni-blake-lively-countersuit-dismissed-1235359474\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">dismissed his claims<\/a>. The media had a field day about his allegations in the suit that Taylor Swift was instrumental in pressuring him to rewrite a scene; a Swift spokesperson said Baldoni was just using her name to draw attention to his claims.
