Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former prince and Duke of York, was confronted by a balaclava-clad man near his Marsh Farm<\/a> home on the Sandringham Estate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOfficers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm on Wednesday following a report that a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village,\u201d Norfolk police said in a statement today. \u201cOfficers attended, and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken to King\u2019s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning, and remains in custody.\u201d No further details have been shared as of this writing; Buckingham Palace has no comment on the matter.<\/p>\n

According to the Daily Mail<\/a>, \u201cThe man was said to have been waiting in a car and started running at the 66-year-old former Duke of York, who had been walking his dogs at about 7.30pm. The man was apparently agitated and shouted at him from 50 yards away. Andrew, who was with a bodyguard, ran back towards his own car and drove off at speed. The suspect still tried to chase on foot – but police were called and arrived shortly afterwards, arresting the man and searching his car.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mountbatten-Windsor moved into Marsh Farm in April<\/a>; he was evicted from Royal Lodge<\/a> near Windsor Castle this past fall. He had temporarily resided at Wood Farm<\/a>, where he was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office<\/a>, though released from custody that same evening. The King\u2019s younger brother remains under investigation. He has always denied any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n
