If it can trick the AI review, it can turn up in your feed.<\/p>\n<p>This \u201cAI Overviews era for email\u201d carriers a <a class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/products-and-platforms\/products\/gmail\/gmail-is-entering-the-gemini-era\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/blog.google\/products-and-platforms\/products\/gmail\/gmail-is-entering-the-gemini-era\/\" aria-label=\"security threat\">security threat<\/a> as well \u2014 so-called <a class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zakdoffman\/2026\/04\/26\/google-changes-gmail-new-gemini-attack-warning\/\" data-ga-track=\"InternalLink:https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zakdoffman\/2026\/04\/26\/google-changes-gmail-new-gemini-attack-warning\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"indirect prompt injection\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">indirect prompt injection<\/a>, when hidden messages written for AI tasks the Gemini or other engines with presenting misleading instructions or suggestions. <\/p>\n<p>But while the marketing angle may be softer, it will quickly become more widespread.
