\"Neetu Neetu Kapoor has opened up about why she consciously gives son Ranbir Kapoor<\/a> and daughter-in-law Alia Bhatt<\/a> their personal space despite living in the same building as them. The veteran actor also recalled advising late husband Rishi Kapoor<\/a> to avoid constantly calling daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni after her marriage.During a recent conversation with Soha Ali Khan, Neetu spoke about how parents should step back once their children get married. <\/p>\n

I live in the same building as my children, but I don\u2019t just go over whenever I want. I want to give them their space,\u201d she said.\u201cI don\u2019t want them to feel that their mother is always sitting there. Their privacy is their privacy. I don\u2019t interfere. Even Raha comes to me whenever she is free; I don\u2019t go there unannounced,\u201d Neetu added, referring to Ranbir and Alia\u2019s daughter Raha Kapoor.<\/p>\n

Neetu Kapoor also revealed that she would often remind Rishi Kapoor not to call Riddhima too frequently after her marriage.\u201cWhen Riddhima got married, I used to tell Rishi ji not to call her every day. I said, \u2018Now Riddhima is married, Bharat is there too, you can\u2019t keep calling all the time. Let her be. You have to move away a little.\u2019 He used to say, \u2018I call her whenever I want, I call Bharat also.\u2019 I used to tell him, \u2018What are you doing? It\u2019s okay to call sometimes, but don\u2019t call them all the time. They also have a life, don\u2019t be on their head all the time.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

They are both so busy and have so much to do, but the way they take care of the child \u2014 both of them are outstanding,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Neetu Kapoor currently resides in the same building as Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt after the family moved into their new home in Mumbai in November 2025. The residence holds emotional significance for the Kapoor family as it has been built on the site of the former Krishna Raj Bungalow, the iconic family property once owned by Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor.<\/p>\n
