Liam Gallagher<\/a>\u00a0has responded to reports that he and\u00a0The Stone\u00a0Roses<\/a>\u2019 John Squire <\/a>have been spotted leaving Abbey Road Studios.<\/p>\n

The two Manchester music legends released\u00a0their first album together, titled simply \u2018Liam Gallagher John Squire\u2019,\u00a0in\u00a0March\u00a02024<\/a>,\u00a0the first new record from the Stone Roses guitarist in 20 years.<\/p>\n

Gallagher was spotted walking out of the iconic recording studio in North London earlier this week (May 6), while earlier in the day, he had posted on X: \u201cIM A SINGER I SING SONGS THATS WHAT I DO\u201d.<\/p>\n

Some\u00a0had\u00a0speculated\u00a0that it could point to a new Oasis album, but later\u00a0in\u00a0the same day, Squire was also seen outside the same studio,\u00a0igniting talk that the sessions are in fact part of a follow-up to\u00a0their\u00a02024 collaboration.<\/p>\n

When pressed on why he was at Abbey Road by a fan on X, Gallagher replied: \u201cI\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0tell you what\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0doing for security reasons and the national health service what I can tell you is\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0fucking BIBLICAL\u201d.<\/p>\n

Gallagher spoke to\u00a0NME\u00a0in 2024 about the album with Squire<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cPeople have got high expectations and I\u2019m the same,\u201d he said, \u201cbut after all the dust settles\u2026 it\u2019s fucking 10 great songs with some great fucking musicians playing it and I\u2019m singing decent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shortly after its release,\u00a0Liam signalled that he wanted to make a second record, saying it would be \u201crude not to\u201d<\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0he also said at the time that the first album was \u201cjust the starter\u201d, <\/a>and\u00a0\u201cif John comes up with another load of songs that are banging, they\u2019ll get it as well\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

NME\u00a0awarded \u2018Liam Gallagher John Squire\u2019 four stars on its release in 2024<\/a>, noting: \u201cIf fans were vaguely alarmed by lead single \u2018Just Another Rainbow\u2019, which pulses with a reassuringly Roses-style riff but also sees Liam recite the\u00a0colours\u00a0of the rainbow and ponder, \u201cam I your windmill?\u201d, it\u2019s ha d to imagine anyone feeling short-changed by the album itself. Obviously this isn\u2019t a \u2018Definitely Maybe\u2019 or \u2018The Stone Roses\u2019 \u2013 no-one could touch those hook-laden masterpieces. As a triumph of style and mood, though, \u2018Liam Gallagher John Squire\u2019 is well worthy of their enduring legacies.\u201d<\/p>\n

They went on\u00a0to tour the record around the UK and Ireland<\/a>, and\u00a0NME\u00a0rated their Glasgow show as four stars<\/a>, writing: The intimate nature of the night may have been enough for some fans; what we received was masterful and refreshing. But if this\u00a0is a\u00a0partnershop\u00a0to be\u00a0continued, they best get started on album two.\u201d<\/p>\n
