The lucky winner of a life-altering \u20ac8.7 million Lotto jackpot<\/a> has made contact with the prize team to claim their massive windfall.<\/p>\n A Dublin 12 Lotto player became the second jackpot winner of 2026 last Saturday, scooping the \u20ac8,726,418 top prize in the May 2 draw.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, Applegreen Ballymount<\/a> on Ballymount Avenue in the M50 Business Park was confirmed as the retailer that sold the winning ticket. The successful Quick Pick ticket was bought on draw day at the Dublin 12 forecourt, reports the Irish Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n Lottery officials have now verified that the winner has been in touch with headquarters, with plans being finalised for them to claim their winnings.<\/p>\n A National Lottery spokesperson said: “Our Lotto Jackpot winner has now made contact. The winner contacted our Prize Claims team and arrangements are now underway for them to collect their prize!”<\/p>\n Site Director at Applegreen Ballymount, Tom Hevey, expressed how delighted the whole shop team were upon hearing the announcement: “Getting a call from the National Lottery to say that our store sold a Lotto jackpot ticket worth over \u20ac8.7 million was the best way to get the week started.<\/p>\n “The entire team in-store were absolutely thrilled to hear that one of our customers spent the Bank Holiday weekend becoming a Lotto jackpot millionaire.<\/p>\n “Applegreen Ballymount is a busy location with local and passing trade, so we hope that the winner checks their ticket soon \u2013 we wish them all the very best with their huge win.”<\/p>\n Want to see more of the stories you love from Dublin Live?
