These are the first pictures of the young mum who gardai<\/a> believe died giving birth to her baby girl.<\/p>\n

Polish national Monika Kubasiewicz, who was 33, had only been living at their house in Carrick-on-Suir in Co Tipperary<\/a> for a few months when she died early on Friday.<\/p>\n

Her body and that of her newborn baby daughter were found by her devastated partner in a bathroom of their house at Blackthorn Close, Greenhill Village at around 1pm, but investigators believe they died several hours earlier.<\/p>\n

A post-mortem on the young mum was carried out on Friday<\/a> and it is understood gardai are satisfied there was no foul play in her death.<\/p>\n

Officers also believe her newborn baby died during the birthing process, but are awaiting the results of a post-mortem that is set to take place later this week.<\/p>\n

Gardai said in a statement: “Garda\u00ed and emergency services attended the scene of an incident at a domestic residence in Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary this Friday afternoon 8th May 2026.<\/p>\n

“A woman in her 30s and an infant were pronounced deceased at the scene. The scene remains preserved for examination.<\/p>\n

“A post-mortem examination will take place, which will determine the course of the investigation.”<\/p>\n

It is understood Ms Kubasiewicz had moved into the estate with her partner and their two small kids, aged just four and three, around three months ago.<\/p>\n

They had previously lived and run a shop in Clonmel<\/a>, also in Tipperary, but lost the business when Covid-19<\/a> struck in early 2020.<\/p>\n

They then spent some time in emergency accommodation before moving to the property in Carrick-on-Suir.<\/p>\n

Local Sinn F\u00e9in<\/a> councillor David Dunne has appealed for people not to speculate about the tragedy.<\/p>\n

He said on Facebook<\/a>: “There has been a tragedy in Carrick-on-Suir. I would ask people not to speculate on what happened and not to share anything they are hearing or has been sent to them.”<\/p>\n

Locals in the estate have been left shocked and devastated by the deaths. They said Ms Kubasiewicz was well-known in the area and the family was popular.<\/p>\n
