Artists looking to submit their work can look no further than the City of Toronto, as they look for pieces to display for the 2027 season.<\/p>\n
The city is looking for submissions for multiple cultural locations.<\/p>\n
The Ascent Gallery<\/a> is one of about 9 locations artists can submit their work.<\/p>\n Artists who are early in their career and\/or are part of a group, who are Toronto-based and\/or identify as equity-deserving are welcome to submit. The city said early career artists who are at least 18-years-old, have a small body of work and have achieved some local recognition through grants, commissions, sales and\/or public exhibition experience are also invited to submit.<\/p>\n The city did not specify which art mediums are preferred but said<\/a> \u201cstaff\u2026 strives to present a balanced roster of exhibitions in all media and styles.\u201d<\/p>\n A submission for the Ascent Gallery must include a completed application form<\/a>, 15 original works along with descriptions and a CV.<\/p>\n There is no fee to apply but artists will be expected to pay an exhibition fee if selected, based on the number of works they will display.<\/p>\n All works submitted must adhere to the City of Toronto Human Rights and Anti-Harassment\/Discrimination Policy<\/a> and be suitable for a general audience.<\/p>\n
