\n\tFlorence Pugh<\/a> is to star in and produce \u201cThe Midnight Library,\u201d the long-awaited film adaptation of Matt Haig\u2019s bestselling novel.<\/p>\n

\n\tStudiocanal<\/a> and Blueprint Pictures<\/a> \u2014\u00a0who first optioned the book in 2020 \u2014\u00a0have also attached Garth Davis<\/a> (\u201cLion\u201d) to direct the feature, from a screenplay by Olivier-winning Laura Wade (\u201cRivals,\u201d \u201cThe Riot Club\u201d) and Olivier and Tony nominee Nick Payne (\u201cWe Live in Time,\u201d \u201cThe Sense of an Ending\u201d). <\/p>\n

\n\tThe film is set to go into pre-production this autumn, with shooting to commence at the start of 2027. Studiocanal is launching worldwide sales at the 2026 Cannes market and will release the film theatrically across their territories of the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Benelux, Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn \u201cThe Midnight Library,\u201d Nora Seed finds herself in a library between life and death with the chance to experience all the potential lives she could have lived. The story serves as allegorical exploration of mental health, focusing on depression, suicide and regret.<\/p>\n

\n\tFirst published by Canongate Books in 2020, the novel has sold 15 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 56 languages. The audiobook is read by Oscar-nominated actress Carey Mulligan.<\/p>\n

\n\tGraham Broadbent and Pete Czernin of Blueprint Pictures will produce the film with Anita Overland and Pugh. Blueprint\u2019s Ben Knight and Diarmuid McKeown executive produce. Anna Marsh, Ron Halpern and Dan MacRae executive produce for Studiocanal. Haig also serves as executive producer.<\/p>\n
