Last week, the It Ends With Us legal drama came to a close after Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni agreed to a settlement<\/a> just two weeks before the case was scheduled to go to trial<\/a>. Lively celebrated<\/a> the news as a \u201cresounding victory\u201d and made a surprise appearance at the Met Gala<\/a> just hours after the settlement was announced.<\/p>\n After all that, a very celebratory Mother\u2019s Day was in order. Her husband, Ryan Reynolds, posted a tribute to Lively on his Instagram Story on Sunday, sharing photos of them hugging in ponchos by a waterfall and lounging side by side in Adirondack chairs. \u201cI appreciate this mother beyond measure,\u201d Reynolds wrote. \u201cShe is kind. She is fearless. She\u2019s the absolute love of my life \u2014\u00a0and to our four little kids, she\u2019s the life of their love.\u201d<\/p>\n Reynolds has stood ten toes down<\/a> for Lively throughout her legal battle against Baldoni, demonstrating support both on social media and in text messages<\/a> unsealed as part of a court order. In an August 2024 text, Reynolds praised his wife for her work on It Ends With Us, saying she \u201cwent so far above and beyond what should be asked of anyone, in order to land a jumbo jet on a fucking dime.\u201d He also had some pretty choice words for Baldoni, whom he called \u201can inexplicably toxic mess \u2014 to say nothing of the fact he \u2018presents\u2019 as a feminist ally\/warrior when he\u2019s actually a thoroughbred, predatory fraudster.\u201d (Baldoni flatly denied all of Lively\u2019s allegations, and his lawyer said he is \u201cecstatic<\/a>\u201d about the settlement.)<\/p>\n Reynolds had no regrets about what he said after those texts were made public, and his rep told Puck<\/a> he wishes he\u2019d gone even harder. \u201cYes, Ryan got involved \u2014 what husband wouldn\u2019t support his wife and the mother of his children?\u201d the rep said. \u201cHe saw his wife fighting daily to stand up against sexual harassment in a private and respectful way only to face retaliation for doing so. If anything, Ryan feels like he wasn\u2019t angry enough. He passionately believes in and will stand up for the basic right to a safe workplace free of harassment and retaliation for his wife and others. Then, now, and always.\u201d<\/p>\n Sounds like a man who does not mess around when it comes to sticking up for his wife.
