One night, she meets Jon (John Reynolds), who has the same gift. And so they do what any other sex-having, time-stopping couple would do: They rob banks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDaCosta is best known for her film career, having written and directed the films \u201cHedda\u201d (2025), \u201cThe Marvels\u201d (2023), \u201cCandyman\u201d (2021) and \u201cLittle Woods\u201d (2018). In 2026, she directed \u201c28 Years Later: The Bone Temple.\u201d In television, DaCosta has directed episodes of \u201cTop Boy\u201d and \u201cMs. Marvel.\u201d She is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360, Casarotto Ramsay &amp; Associates, Shelter PR and Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka Finkelstein Lezcano Bobb &amp; Dang.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cSex Criminals\u201d was created by Emily V. Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani and Tze Chu, who also serve as showrunners. Besides DaCosta, executive producers include Gordon, Nanjiani, Chu, Dani Melia from Gordon and Nanjiani\u2019s Winter Coat Films banner, Dani Gorin from LuckyChap, Fraction and Zdarsky. LuckyChap\u2019s Louie Hayes serves as producer. The eight-episode series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tNews of DaCosta\u2019s hiring was announced ahead of Amazon\u2019s presentation to advertisers at <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/upfronts\/\" id=\"auto-tag_upfronts\" data-tag=\"upfronts\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">upfronts<\/a> in New York City.
