Journalist Kjersti Flaa, whose \u201cnightmare\u201d interview with Blake Lively<\/a> from 2016 went viral in 2024, said it\u2019s \u201cmind-blowing\u201d the actress attended the Met Gala 2026 <\/a>hours after she settled her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think she wanted to clog the internet with stories about her at the Met Gala and what she was wearing, it was an attempt to try to drown all the negative news,\u201d Flaa told the Daily Mail <\/a>in an interview published Monday.<\/p>\n

Flaa explained that Lively\u2019s Met Gala appearance was another example of how the \u201cGossip Girl\u201d alum and husband Ryan Reynolds \u201cmanipulate\u201d the internet \u201cby pushing out stories that are friendly and pro\u2013their narrative.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Flaa said Lively (seen above at the Met Gala 2026) went to the event to \u201cmanipuplate\u201d the internet and the public. FilmMagic<\/p>\n

\u201cThe audacity and guts that she had to stand there in front of all these people and say, \u2018Hey look at me in this dress,’\u201d Flaa went on. \u201cI was shocked that she did that. I think it says a lot about her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Norwegian reporter also said Lively, 38, went to the star-studded event last Monday because she \u201ccannot fathom\u201d that people \u201cdon\u2019t like her.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFor her, this is an orchestrated smear campaign against her and she believes people still love her,\u201d Flaa continued, calling Lively \u201cso delusional.\u201d<\/p>\n

During a 2016 interview with Lively, Flaa congratulated the \u201cAge of Adaline\u201d star on her then-recently announced\u00a0second pregnancy<\/a>\u00a0and resulting \u201cbump,\u201d to which Lively wildly\u00a0clapped back<\/a>, \u201cCongrats on your little bump.\u201d<\/p>\n

When the interview resurfaced in 2024, Flaa said Lively\u2019s behavior made her \u201cwant to quit\u201d her job. She also said Lively never apologized for the \u201cbump\u201d comment.<\/p>\n

Last month, Lively\u2019s legal team tried to stop the viral interview from being used as evidence in her and Baldoni\u2019s now-canceled trial, which Flaa was called as a witness for, according to People.<\/a><\/p>\n

Lively\u2019s lawyers reportedly asked the judge to exclude Flaa from testifying, while Baldoni\u2019s team argued Flaa\u2019s testimony was \u201chighly relevant\u201d and denied \u201cspreading or encouraging\u201d the \u201clittle bump\u201d interview. <\/p>\n

Flaa told the Daily Mail she\u2019s \u201cdisappointed\u201d she won\u2019t get to testify now that the case has been settled.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was looking forward to it.\u00a0I was looking forward to telling my side of the story and support what I believe very strongly is the truth here,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The journalist speculated that Lively settled because \u201cshe knew she had a weak case\u201d against Baldoni, 42, whom she accused of sexual harassment and fostering a toxic work environment in a bombshell lawsuit filed in December 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think she was advised by everyone to let it go,\u201d Flaa told the outlet. \u201cIt would have been so humiliating for her to lose and you never want to look like a liar in front of a jury.\u201d<\/p>\n

Page Six has reached out to Lively\u2019s reps for comment.<\/p>\n

As Page Six\u00a0previously reported<\/a>, Lively and Baldoni made the shocking decision\u00a0to settle their lengthy court battle\u00a0on May 4 in what we\u2019re told was a \u201clast-minute deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

A source said that the \u201cIt Ends With Us\u201d co-stars had been negotiating for a few weeks and were encouraged to make a settlement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey finally came to an agreement today. It was a last-minute deal,\u201d the insider shared with us just moments after the settlement was reached. \u201cThe magistrate and the judge wanted to avoid this going to trial as it was going to be a long, drawn-out case, so they were encouraged to reach an agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lively attended the Met Gala hours after the legal battle ended\u00a0in a colorful archival Versace gown\u00a0<\/a>from 2006. She leaned into the \u201cFashion is Art\u201d dress code by carrying a custom Judith Leiber bag featuring her children\u2019s artwork.<\/p>\n

A body language expert<\/a> told Page Six that Lively exhibited \u201creserved sadness\u201d and \u201csigns of discomfort\u201d at the event.<\/p>\n
