{"id":482067,"date":"2026-05-13T05:45:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T05:45:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/482067\/"},"modified":"2026-05-13T05:45:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T05:45:12","slug":"littering-dog-fouling-fines-to-rise-by-e100-in-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/482067\/","title":{"rendered":"Littering, dog fouling fines to rise by \u20ac100 in September"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fines for littering and dog fouling will be increased by \u20ac100 from the beginning of September.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of State for the Circular Economy Alan Dillon will announce that these on-the-spot fines will rise from \u20ac150 to \u20ac250.<\/p>\n<p>The move is aimed at deterring littering and illegal dumping, and the minister will encourage local authorities to improve enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Dillon will also announce a \u20ac3 million investment in anti-dumping initiatives across all councils.<\/p>\n<p>More than 200 projects will receive funding this year.<\/p>\n<p>This will fund local authorities to use CCTV monitoring along with supporting clean up operations and raising public awareness.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2017, this work has led to the removal of more than 26,000 tonnes of waste nationwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Fines for littering and dog fouling will be increased by \u20ac100 from the beginning of September.
