Distribution has scored a batch of sales on \u201cThe Sound of Something New,\u201d the new film by \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/perfect-strangers\/\" id=\"auto-tag_perfect-strangers\" data-tag=\"perfect-strangers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Perfect Strangers<\/a>\u201d director Paolo Genovese, which is being sold at the Cannes March\u00e9 du Film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cSomething New,\u201d which is produced by Lotus Production, a Leone Film Group company, in tandem with RAI Cinema, and is now in post, has been sold to: Spain (Karma Films); Poland (Aurora Film); Hungary (Vertigo Media); Greece and Cyprus (Dream Team Film); and Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia (Kino Mediteran).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn \u201cSomething New,\u201d which segues from Genovese\u2019s 2025 hit concept movie \u201cMadly,\u201d the lives of six people intersect amid the chaos of everyday life in Milan. Each of the film\u2019s characters is in search of their own \u201cperfect noise,\u201d says the synopsis, a signal to follow \u201crather than surrender to emotional numbness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThey cross paths \u201cthrough humiliations, small acts of kindness, and buried desires, until a chance encounter between Viola and Andrea sparks the possibility of a second chance, setting off a chain of events that unsettles all their lives,\u201d the synopsis adds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tGenovese\u2019s \u201cPerfect Strangers,\u201d which came out in 2016 and was sold internationally by Medusa, holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for the most remade movie in cinema history, having spawned remakes in 24 territories including France, Germany, Spain, Greece and South Korea.
