Katelyn Cummins says she is \u201cnot in a position\u201d to date anyone after a whirlwind year.<\/p>\n
The Dancing With The Stars champion<\/a>, who was also crowned Rose of Tralee<\/a> last year, said she was seeing someone earlier this year, but is now \u201cfocusing on herself\u201d instead.<\/p>\n While taking part in the hit RTE show at the top of the year, some fans theorised that Katelyn <\/a>and her professional dance partner Leonardo Lini were an item.<\/p>\n But the Laois native <\/a>insisted this was never the case as they were both off the market at the time.<\/p>\n Katelyn said: \u201cI was actually with someone during the show, and he has a partner as well, so it was a pure friendship throughout the whole thing.<\/p>\n \u201cA lot of people have asked that since the show, you know, \u2018Were you together?\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cWe were like no, we were literally just really good friends who created such a good relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n 21-year-old Katelyn is now single and has no intentions to get back on the dating scene any time soon.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like I\u2019m not really in a position to be in a relationship at the moment because I\u2019m so busy,\u201d she told Goss.ie.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m focusing a lot on myself, but I\u2019ve also learned so much about myself this year that my self-confidence has grown enormously.\u201d<\/p>\n Katelyn, who, outside of her public profile, is an apprentice electrician, says she is not an \u201caverage 21-year-old\u201d since winning the Rose of Tralee last summer.<\/p>\n She said: \u201cI\u2019m a lot more mature in those aspects of life, and I\u2019m just focusing on myself at the moment and seeing what opportunities lie ahead for me and my own future.<\/p>\n \u201cThis year is so hectic as it is that I\u2019m trying to make sure that I stay healthy and stay looking after myself, and I didn’t want anything to jeopardise that.\u201d<\/p>\n Want to<\/strong> see more of the stories you love from RSVP<\/a> <\/strong>?
