\n\tAhead of its world premiere as a special screening in Cannes, Steven Soderbergh<\/a>\u2018s doc feature \u201cJohn Lennon<\/a>: The Last Interview\u201d is now launching in the market. <\/p>\n

\n\tPatrick Wachsberger\u2019s Legendary-backed sales and production company 193<\/a> has boarded the film, which features exclusive access to Lennon\u2019s final in-depth conversation. <\/p>\n

\n\tProduced by Nancy Saslow for Mishpookah Entertainment Group and Sugar23, \u201cJohn Lennon: The Last Interview\u201d captures an extraordinary and intimate moment in music history \u2014 the final in-depth conversation The Beatles icon ever gave. On December 8, 1980, Lennon and Yoko Ono sat down with a small radio crew in their New York apartment to promote the release of their album \u201cDouble Fantasy.\u201d What followed was an unfiltered, wide-ranging discussion about music, politics, fatherhood and life. Just hours later, Lennon was killed. <\/p>\n

\n\tDirected by Soderbergh, the documentary presents the nearly complete interview for the first time, framed by reflections from those who were present. As per the description, it reveals a \u201cman at the height of his creative and personal powers, openly looking toward the future he would never see.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMeta served as the film\u2019s technology partner. For select sequences making up 10% of the feature, Soderbergh utilized Meta\u2019s AI tools to create visuals that accompany Lennon\u2019s esoteric ideas and reflections \u2014 about his past, present, and a future he was dreaming of \u2014 on what would tragically turn out to be the final day of his life.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis is the second Cannes market for 193, which launched in early 2025. At last year\u2019s market, the company secured international sales for four marquee films, including the festival\u2019s biggest sale in Lynne Ramsey\u2019s \u201cDie My Love.\u201d \u201cJohn Lennon: The Last Interview\u201d marks 193\u2019s expansion into premium nonfiction.<\/p>\n
