months in orbit and \u201cnine minutes of ter\u00adror\u201d, China has become the third coun\u00adtry in the world to safely land a rover on Mars.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The China National Space Admin\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion (CNSA) said its rover Zhu Rong \u2013 named after the Chinese god of fire and war \u2013 suc\u00adcess\u00adfully landed on Mars yes\u00adter\u00adday after \u201cnine minutes of ter\u00adror\u201d, refer\u00adring to Nasa\u2019s descrip\u00adtion of the period of des\u00adcent, when engin\u00adeers on Earth have no con\u00adtrol or over\u00adsight of the rover because of the radio sig\u00adnal delay.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cThe sci\u00adentific research team con\u00adfirmed via the tele\u00admetry sig\u00adnal sent by the Zhu Rong Mars rover that on May 15, the Tian\u00adwen-1 Lander suc\u00adcess\u00adfully landed in the preselec\u00adted land\u00ading area in the Uto\u00adpia Plain of south\u00adern Mars,\u201d CNSA said.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\"
