The new Android firmware delivers a raft of security updates, and owners of Samsung flagships will not want to see more delays.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/news.samsung.com\/global\/samsung-launches-one-ui-9-beta-for-galaxy-s26-series-users\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/news.samsung.com\/global\/samsung-launches-one-ui-9-beta-for-galaxy-s26-series-users\" aria-label=\"Samsung\">Samsung<\/a> says One UI 9 \u201cintroduces enhanced protection against suspicious apps and potential threats: when new high-risk apps are detected, it now warns users, blocks execution and installation, and recommends deletion through security policy updates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"embed-base color-body color-body-border link-embed embed-3\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zakdoffman\/2026\/05\/15\/confusing-apple-changes-iphone-green-bubbles-after-15-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\u2018Confusing\u2019\u2014Apple Changes iPhone Green Bubbles After 15 Years\" data-ga-track=\"forbesEmbedly:https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zakdoffman\/2026\/05\/15\/confusing-apple-changes-iphone-green-bubbles-after-15-years\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Forbes\u2018Confusing\u2019\u2014Apple Changes iPhone Green Bubbles After 15 YearsBy Zak Doffman<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Per <a class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/samsung-one-ui-9-manage-unknown-apps-3666922\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/samsung-one-ui-9-manage-unknown-apps-3666922\/\" aria-label=\"Android Authority\">Android Authority<\/a>, \u201cin the first One UI 9 beta, within Settings &gt; Security and privacy &gt; More security settings, there\u2019s now a new entry for Manage unknown apps.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The beta version of the new feature includes a clear warning: \u201cThe apps below may put your phone and data at risk because they weren\u2019t installed from an approved source such as the Play Store or Galaxy Store. Uninstall any apps that you don\u2019t trust or recognize.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Manage Unknown Apps<\/p>\n<p>Android Authority<\/p>\n<p>Per <a class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sammyfans.com\/2026\/05\/14\/one-ui-9-beta-shows-new-ways-to-handle-unknown-apps-and-alerts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.sammyfans.com\/2026\/05\/14\/one-ui-9-beta-shows-new-ways-to-handle-unknown-apps-and-alerts\/\" aria-label=\"SammyFans\">SammyFans<\/a>, the current One UI 9 beta \u201cwill make Galaxy phones safer and smarter.\u201d Both Google and Samsung are clamping down on sideloading, which is now more restricted thanks to Google\u2019s new police change that forces developers to be registered before they can push apps to mainstream devices. Android 17 also enhanced live threat detection to catch threats early.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung was earlier than Google in locking down phones to protect against malicious apps installed from outside Play Store or its own store. One UI 8.5 was finally released some five months after the first beta went live.
