\n\tThe final week of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert<\/a> will feature the host chatting with an old friend and musical performances by two big rock stars (and Colbert himself).<\/p>\n

\n\tCBS has released a lineup for Colbert\u2019s final week of shows, leading up to the May 21 finale of both Colbert\u2019s tenure and The Late Show itself \u2014\u00a0thanks to the network\u2019s decision last year to cancel the show<\/a> that it says is a money loser. Jon Stewart<\/a>, Steven Spielberg<\/a>, David Byrne and Bruce Springsteen<\/a> are all set to appear on the show next week.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Late Show isn\u2019t revealing a full lineup for the week, choosing to save some surprises for the audience. On Wednesday, May 20, for instance, the listings say Colbert will subject himself to the \u201cColbert Questionert,\u201d with special guests asking the questions \u2014 but it doesn\u2019t list those guests. Nor is there any guest listed for the final show. Here\u2019s the lineup for the week:<\/p>\n

\n\t\u2022 Monday, May 18: The Worst of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert<\/a> (not a clip show!) <\/p>\n

\n\t\u2022 Tuesday, May 19: Jon Stewart, Steven Spielberg, special performance by David Byrne and Stephen Colbert<\/p>\n

\n\t\u2022 Wednesday, May 20: Stephen takes the \u201cColbert Questionert\u201d featuring special guests, performance by Bruce Springsteen<\/p>\n

\n\t\u2022 Thursday, May 21: The Late Show series finale<\/p>\n

\n\tColbert said in an exit interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> that he \u201cdid not expect it to end this way\u201d \u2014\u00a0but also that had he gotten to leave on his own terms, he would have followed a similar playbook.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019d just be a little older. And it would have been my choice, and I probably would have known what the final show was going to be a little bit earlier,\u201d he said. \u201cOn\u00a0The Colbert Report, I picked that day \u2014 I didn\u2019t tell anybody, but I knew two years ahead of time. Well, we didn\u2019t pick this day. We know what it\u2019ll be now, but it took a few months. But maybe they gave me a gift because I had a lot of jokes I could make about the end of the show, and if I\u2019d decided to end the show, then I\u2019m the bad guy \u2014 hard to make jokes about that.\u201d<\/p>\n
