{"id":486691,"date":"2026-05-15T22:00:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T22:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/486691\/"},"modified":"2026-05-15T22:00:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T22:00:13","slug":"outlander-finale-post-credits-scene-every-easter-egg-cameo-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/486691\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Outlander&#8217; Finale Post-Credits Scene: Every Easter Egg, Cameo (Video)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAfter eight seasons, Starz\u2019s \u201c<a data-id=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/outlander\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/outlander\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Outlander<\/a>\u201d wrapped up with Claire (Caitr\u00edona Balfe) and Jamie\u2019s (Sam Heughan) timeless love story getting a powerful (yet ambiguous) ending.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWhile the last moments of the finale, which aired on Friday, May 15, show Claire and Jamie, seemingly dead, opening their eyes and taking another breath (<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.me\/pc8uak-1lHhc6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">read their full interpretation of that here<\/a>), those who stuck around for the post-credits scene got another treat. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe scene, directed by Balfe, takes place in the early 1990s as a group of \u201cfans\u201d stand in line at a bookstore where a new author, Diana Gabaldon, is signing copies of her debut novel, \u201cOutlander.\u201d Gabaldon, who penned the books the series is based on, published the first edition in June 1991. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cHaving Diana there mattered to us. She\u2019s the source of every word we\u2019ve ever written on the show, and we couldn\u2019t imagine ending it without handing the story back to her,\u201d showrunner Matthew B. Roberts tells Variety of the scene. \u201cShe created this universe \u2014 it felt right that the last image of\u00a0\u2018Outlander\u2019\u00a0be hers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/wp-content\/themes\/pmc-variety-2020\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/OLS8_810_091324_0172_a.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRobert Wilson<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAs the camera pans, the room is filled with cameos from Roberts, executive producer Maril Davis and writer and executive producer Toni Graphia. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn addition to that, everyone else in the scene \u2014 the fans in line and those in the bookstore \u2014 are crew members including: John Casey (props), Suzanne Smith (casting), Carly Parris (production buyer), Davie Stewart (Sam\u2019s Driver), Luke Coulter (camera), Catrina Luna (construction accountant), Chris Cameron (locations) and Carol Ann Crawford (dialect coach).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThere\u2019s another easter egg for eagle-eyed viewers. All the books featured on the shelves of the bookstore \u2014 and in the hands of those who are featured onscreen \u2014 have titles written by the crew members based on their specialty in the series.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWe felt that after eight seasons and twelve years, the people who actually built this world deserved to be in it,\u201d adds Roberts. \u201cEvery face in that bookstore is someone who\u2019s been with us from day one, and every book on the shelves is a job they did with a title created just for them.
